We are seeking 2 experienced developers (1 front end and 1 back end) to create a web application utilizing a microservices architecture. The ideal candidates will have a strong understanding of the technologies listed below and be able to work collaboratively to deliver a robust and scalable application. We are developing a web application to allow our customers to securely log in and perform key tasks in managing their services with us while enhancing customer experience and streamlining task management. The project adheres to strict 508 accessibility standards and prioritizes security, scalability, and performance.

The web application will utilize a microservices architecture with a Python/Flask back end, integrating SQLAlchemy for data modeling and Celery for task queues. There will be considerable inter-service communication which will be facilitated by messaging queues, with RabbitMQ or similar alternatives as the preferred solution. Each service will be deployed as a Docker container, ensuring modularity and ease of scaling. The front end will leverage Bootstrap for a clean, static design while incorporating dynamic capabilities for data visualization and cross-browser compatibility.

The platform will prioritize security, with strong measures for sensitive data handling and optional integration with vulnerability scanning tools like Snyk or Bandit. To maintain high availability and performance, the system will be distributed with multiple instances of each service, incorporating service discovery mechanisms and API gateways as needed. The development process will follow agile methodologies, with CI/CD pipelines built from scratch to ensure seamless deployment workflows.

We are building this project from the ground up and require two experienced developers to supplement and lead its development: a Front-End Web Developer and a Back-End Web Developer. These professionals will collaborate closely with internal stakeholders and align their efforts to create a robust, scalable, and compliant application.


Front-End Web Developer Role and Requirement

The Front-End Web Developer will focus on creating an accessible and visually engaging user interface for the application. Working with a Bootstrap template, this developer will ensure compliance with 508 accessibility standards while optimizing for performance and cross-browser compatibility. They will also integrate dynamic data visualization tools such as D3.js, Chart.js, or Kibana, while collaborating with back-end developers to ensure seamless API integration. The ideal candidate will have 2+ years of experience in front-end development, familiarity with modern frameworks like React or Angular, and a strong understanding of automated accessibility testing tools, such as Axe or Lighthouse.


Back-End Web Developer Role and Requirements

The Back-End Web Developer will design and implement the distributed back-end architecture, focusing on scalability, security, and performance. Responsibilities include building secure APIs with Python/Flask, managing messaging queues like RabbitMQ, and developing task queues with Celery. This role requires expertise in SQLAlchemy for data modeling, Docker for containerized deployments, RBAC, OAuth/OIDC implementations and CI/CD pipelines. The ideal candidate will have 3+ years of experience in back-end development, a proven track record in designing distributed systems, and familiarity with monitoring tools like Prometheus with Grafana to debug performance issues.
