Communication during the active phases of the project was positive, and I made sure to keep the client updated, provide strategic recommendations, and maintain transparency across all tasks and decisions.
Despite successfully completing all work and receiving glowing feedback on the results, the contract was unexpectedly closed without any prior notice. The client did not communicate any concerns, issues, or reasons for ending the engagement. Additionally, they have not responded to messages regarding outstanding invoices or unpaid time that was legitimately logged while performing the work they requested.
Unfortunately, the lack of communication at the end of the contract and the refusal to pay for completed work reflect a level of unprofessionalism that makes it difficult to recommend this client. Freelancers rely on timely, honest communication and respect for agreed-upon terms, and in this case those standards were not upheld.
I stand by the quality of the work I delivered and the professionalism I maintained throughout the engagement. However, based on the abrupt contract closure, the absence of explanation, and the unresolved outstanding payments, I cannot recommend working with this client.

In a last-ditch effort, I offered him increased compensation to see the project through. He refused , leaving us with a completely inoperative platform. As our new CTO has since confirmed, the more likely reason for his departure was that the AI-generated codebase he’d created had become so tangled and unstable that even he could no longer debug it.
The platform he delivered was brittle, buggy, and architecturally unsound -- a fact now confirmed by our new CTO. Core modules were broken. There was no reliable test environment. Local and production environments were improperly entangled, making even basic testing risky. Simply running the app locally could disrupt production -- a critical and dangerous flaw.
Much of the code appears to have been scaffolded using AI, but it lacked the oversight or engineering depth to make it stable or scalable. The result was a fragile product that couldn’t be debugged, couldn’t launch, and required immediate triage by a new senior engineering team.
Vivek ultimately exited before completing critical integrations and without providing meaningful documentation or a proper handoff -- despite previously agreeing to support us through a soft launch. He made clear in our conversations that he was prioritizing a more lucrative opportunity.
The consequences on our end were significant: lost time, lost momentum, damage to our startup team’s morale, and substantial new engineering costs just to stabilize what was left behind.
I cannot recommend this freelancer for complex builds or leadership-level engineering roles.

DESCRIPTION: The website does not provide at least two different ways to navigate the site, which presents a barrier for certain users who find a particular navigation method easier to use.
