Hello, I need to develop a background for my video.
We filmed the video on a green screen, and the created background will be used to replace the green screen.
We need the background to be as realistic as possible.
It is important that the background matches the person in the video in terms of lighting — for example, the person should not be very bright while the background is dark, or vice versa. The lighting should also not look artificial.
We also want to avoid any unrealistic elements in the background (such as unrealistic furniture or other interior elements).
Additionally, we need to create a sign in the background that looks realistic and natural within the scene.
All references are provided below, including:

Long-term, we are seeking two to four full-time 3D artists. These roles may be generalists, or specialists in exclusively modeling or texturing / material creation.
Short-term, we are looking to engage a few highly talented 3D Artists in some small projects to both help us get our kickstarter project launched, and to test our compatibility for the full-time positions.
The 3D models will need to be well-optimized for real-time. There will be enough time to do good work, but not enough for extensive texture painting or sculpting to produce normal maps, etc. This work requires efficient (both in terms of time and poly count) hard-surface modeling skills and will be best suited to someone with ample experience in the video game industry.

Here's the first project:
- We have a spaceship hull which is sliced to show three decks.
- The interior does not need work, the hull does not need work.
- We need greeble, structural detailing added in some gaps between the hull and the interior decks.
- There is no concept art, you need to bring some creativity to it.
- These open hulls will be viewed from a distance, from above & 3/4 views, so close-up detail is not required.
- All of the geometry created needs to use one PBR material & set of textures.
- There isn't time or need for texture painting or baking. The right approach will be to create a texture map with some details (grills, panels, etc.) which can be quickly mapped onto the various geometry to add some detail which will look convincing enough from a distance.
- There isn't a specific poly target, but we need the desired result to be achieved as optimally as possible.
- The time limit is 8 hours.
Once we have signed an NDA, we'll share renders of the ship in its current state.
To be direct and save us both time, here are some reasons to NOT apply:
- Your portfolio is exclusively or largely sculpting work, organic or character focused.
- Your portfolio contains one ship, one weapon, one character, a couple props. We need to see skill and proven efficiency / productivity, not a few hobby projects.
- Your work isn't mostly sci-fi. We need sci-fi specialists.
- Your samples are presented as randomly named files in a google folder.
- You're not going to bother providing notes on your samples to make it clear what your contribution was.

I left a small amount of the instruction intentionally ambiguous to explore compatibility. It is often not possible or practical to be explicit on every facet of a project, some small degree of interpretation is required, particularly on a first project while getting acquainted. When both parties have a similar interpretation in these ambiguous details, that is good compatibility. When significant misinterpretation occurs, that can make the work more difficult.
We were not well-aligned to work together in this regard and Volodymyr become quickly frustrated with the communication & need for revision. This project was intended as an opportunity to explore working together and the revisions were to establish clarity on this small trial ahead of a much larger ongoing contract. Volodymyr treated the project as a deliverable rather than a training opportunity and was quickly frustrated by the back & forth.
I'm paying him fully for his effort. I believe Volodymyr may be a good modeler on projects where the specifications are very precise, there is no room for interpretation and an agreed upon fixed limit to revisions.

Revisions were subsequently required, but Jarek responded poorly to constructive feedback and refused to revise the art, declaring the project "complete." The vector assets were produced in such a way that they were not usable in flash (far too many superfluous layers and masks), and Jarek was not cooperative in finding a solution.
Jarek, you need to appreciate that there is a difference between optimization of vector artwork and scope creep. It is possible, and sometimes necessary, to produce vector art with simpler fills and strokes, without masks and extensive layers. A few of the symbols you re-created were very well done, others were not. We all, as designers, need to work on not having a strong ego reaction when our first submissions do not hit the mark.
I would much rather negotiate a change in the budget if a contractor feels he/she misunderstood the scope. I would never re-hire a contractor who states that the job is "finished" and refuses to see the work through when it's both not yet visually consistent, and needs to be optimized to meet the technical requirements.
Jarek was paid, but most of the work was not usable.
I would not work with Jarek again, though I think his adobe illustrator skills are fine, he currently lacks consistency, maturity and reliability.

Tiles/Flooring:
Everything needs updating. Need to update pricing on all products, the calculator functionality works on some but not others. Description is not showing anywhere. Need to make this section much cleaner and better. Will also need to add products as well.
There are some products with 26 colors variants – these should be separated. Looks like it already is separated and also bundled. Makes no sense.
Need this page and all the products under this to be much more functional and better. This is a very high priority and will need technical skills as well as design skills.

The project is a bit unique: the home will be built on an empty lot in a Fly-In community, so it will be a hangar home (residential + aircraft hangar integrated into the design). Our core products are luxurious, made-to-order hand-painted artworks and rugs.
We are currently working toward structuring our B2B sales initiative and are looking for an experienced B2B specialist who can build this function from the ground up, take full ownership of it, and scale it successfully. This role is ideal for someone who is proactive, confident, and comfortable creating systems independently rather than stepping into an already established setup.
We welcome B2B sales professionals from anywhere in the world. Ideally, candidates are based in internationally connected or travel-focused regions such as Europe, the Middle East, Southeast Asia, or the USA, but location is flexible as long as you can work effectively with global clients. In future projects, more clarity upfront on what is included in each milestone might help avoid misunderstandings.
There was also a request to release a milestone before the agreed tasks were completed, with the explanation that more time was needed. A suggestion would be to consider a flexible hourly contract for situations like this, rather than multiple milestones, to avoid pauses in the workflow and ensure continuity. Although these issues were minor, they could have been resolved without the need for extra milestones.
While we did encounter an unexpected delay due to a family emergency, which we understand can happen, it did impact our deadlines. Clearer communication about how such events might affect timelines could help in managing expectations.
We encountered additional issues along the way - small fixes that required attention and they are related. However, each fix came with a request for an additional milestone, which created some hesitation on our end. It may be helpful in the future to bundle minor adjustments within milestones to streamline the process. Additionally, at times, there was some misunderstanding of the specific issues we needed to address, and clear, regular communication may help in aligning on task requirements.
Overall, with some adjustments in communication and milestone expectations, I believe future projects with this freelancer could be more seamless.

We do not need any interior or structure details, or any design details. We only need the 3D model with the same design as the reference in Rhino.
The 3D model/Rhino file must be properly organised with layers etc, and editable, so we can make any futture adjustments on our end.

I am looking for an architect to support a conceptual architectural development based on an existing physical 3D model and terrain simulation (see attached images).
The site context and the general building envelope are already defined through the model and the digital terrain data. The task is to further develop this basis into a coherent architectural concept, focusing on spatial strategy rather than detailed design or regulations.
The scope includes:
developing an efficient building volume within the given envelope
strategic floor plan concepts and spatial logic
optimal room layouts and combinable unit systems

Architecture is a complex field, and many important details simply cannot be clarified over chat messages. Because we couldn’t have a real conversation to align expectations, a lot of time was lost and misunderstandings kept appearing. I believe that with better communication and willingness to talk things through, the project would have gone much smoother.
Additionally, the task was not clearly defined. There were no dimensions, no precise requirements, and the overall brief was vague. The materials provided were incomplete and of poor quality, which made it impossible to deliver accurate architectural work. Without proper measurements and clear guidelines, achieving the results he expected was simply unrealistic. Nevertheless, wish him all the best and hope to have the chance to work again with better results.

From the beginning, the requirements were never clear—lots of ambiguity and constant back-and-forth in decision making. Even so, I decided to give it a chance.
Communication was awful. Plenty of messages, but a complete waste of time and highly ineffective. Until the very end, I genuinely couldn’t tell whether he didn’t understand English well, or if he was just skimming messages in a rush, with no interest in understanding and responding correctly. He doesn’t know how to read or interpret architectural drawings, many of the questions and corrections he asked were already clearly visible in the plans without needing excessive explanation.
If there’s one good thing to say, it’s that they were respectful in their tone—but it was not enough to make up for how demeaning and temperamental he could also be.

I worked without day-offs, was always in touch and did a lot without tracking time because I felt huge responsibility for the result. Alexander worked on weekends too, so I thought we are a team that makes really great project. He asked for dozens changes and I did them, because it's work process, it's ok. He required realistic style for illustration, I wrote him that realism takes time, but I did as much as I was able to do before deadline. Finally, I sent him files for print, and on the next day he requested to refund 50% of money because I worked too much hours. He saw how many hours I worked (at least 2 times on Mondays), and he never told that this is too much before he got the files. I wrote him why I spent so much time and that I actually worked much more time than he may see in work diary, and I realized from his answer that he doesn't respect my efforts at all. It's a pity because I devoted 2 weeks of my life to this project.
