I’ve worked on multiple YouTube projects and have a very clear, editor-friendly process. This is what I will give you for each video to guide you and make sure we are on the same page visually:
* Full script + narration audio
* Background music
* A mood board / storyboard with example visuals
* A document of visual prompts and references
* A brand guide (colors, tone, visual identity)
* Clear timelines with buffer space for revisions
I care a lot about alignment upfront, so we’re not doing the "wait… that’s not what I meant" dance halfway through a video.
Whom I'm Looking For:
* Strong at visual storytelling (pacing, mood, atmosphere)
* Creative, curious, and passionate about documentary-style content
* Comfortable collaborating and communicating openly
* Reliable, but not allergic to a little personality
* Confident working with real historical imagery and footage

Role Overview
We are looking for a skilled short-form video editor who can also write scripts and provide voice-over narration to join our team long-term.
You will be building each clip from scratch. This includes writing the script, sourcing footage, editing the video, and narrating what’s happening on screen.
Your narration and script should clearly explain context, actions, lessons, and meaning. You are guiding the viewer through the clip from start to finish.
At certain moments, you will pause narration and allow original speakers or actors to speak, then seamlessly resume narration afterward. Narration must be present throughout the entire clip, not only at the beginning.
Clip & Footage Sources
You will independently source footage from movies and documentaries, interviews and speeches, podcasts in video format, YouTube videos, and business, investing, marketing, and success-focused content.
All footage must support themes of business, investing, money, entrepreneurship, success mindset, or power dynamics.
Scriptwriting & Clip Building
You are responsible for writing the script for each video based on the footage you choose. Scripts must follow the pacing, structure, and narration style of the provided examples.
You will decide how the clip is structured, what moments are shown, when narration pauses, when original speakers are allowed to talk, and how the message ties back to business, investing, success, entrepreneurship, or power.
This role requires strong storytelling ability and the ability to build compelling clips from raw footage.

All videos must be educational, engaging, inspirational, easy to understand, and optimized for short-form retention.

You are responsible for writing the script, clearly and confidently narrating the video, explaining what’s happening on screen, adding insight, context, and lessons tied to business, investing, success, or power, allowing original speakers or actors to speak when appropriate, seamlessly resuming narration afterward, and transforming all footage so the final video is original and unique.

Independently write scripts for each video
Independently source high-quality footage in HD / 1080p resolution
Build each clip from scratch
Record clear, professional voice-over narration
Edit high-retention short-form videos
Add professional subtitles synced to audio
Add captions displayed at the TOP of the video
Place the channel emblem or logo in the CENTER of the video
Apply colour grading, filters, and visual effects
Ensure videos are 9:16 vertical format
Ensure each video is a minimum of 1 minute long
Match pacing, structure, scripting, and narration style of provided examples
Deliver clean, ready-to-post videos with no watermarks
Workload
30 videos per month
1 per day
All videos must be at least 1 minute long
This is a consistent, long-term workload.
Pay
$450CAD paid once the full 30 videos for the month are completed and delivered. Pay will increase significantly based on performance. The long-term goal is to double pay as growth continues. Additional long-term opportunities and potential future travel with the team.

We are looking for a Narrative Lead, not just a "content writer". We do not want Wikipedia summaries. We want cinema.
THE VIBE & REFERENCES:
Style: Think Fern, Lemmino, Barely Sociable, or MagnatesMedia.
Tone: Cynical, atmospheric, tense, and highly researched.
The Goal: To take complex legal or technical stories (like the Xbox Underground or Aaron Swartz) and structure them like a thriller movie.
WHAT YOU WILL DO:
Research: Deep dives. You go beyond the first page of Google. You find the court documents and the obscure forum posts.
Structure: You understand "Open Loops", "The Gap", and how to retain attention without being cringey.
Visual Writing: You write for the Editor. You include visual cues [Visual: Zoom into the redacted document] so our motion designer knows what to build.
REQUIREMENTS:
NO AI: If you use ChatGPT to write your scripts, do not apply. We can tell.
Native-Level English: You must master nuance, irony, and subtext.
Experience: You have written long-form video essays (15-25 mins) before.
