I have completed the editing job which he asked me to do before he files a contract as I trusted him. And, I completed it on time. however, he filed the contract after I finished the job with another task of 500 words of essay. he did not mention the deadline. On the same day of filing the contract, he wrote to me saying that the editing job is not adequate and I need to submit a half-page review. I did so immediately and also asked him to give a constructive comment or feedback on my work, so I can improve it. Then, he did not even bother to respond to me and immediately filed a request to end the contract on the same day.
I told him that he can end the contract for 500 words essay, however, the editing job was done on time according to his requirement. so he should pay the payment for that task which was $12. I am a professional researcher and academician. I've just started to use this platform to explore different opportunities, however, people don't act professionally and tried to scam others. I am not in need of $12, but this is not about money. This is about professionalism, dignity, and being fair to others' work. I have spent energy and time completing this task, so I should be getting what I deserve.
I hope the Upwork community can check all communication that I had with the client since the beginning and the time for submission of all tasks. Then, release the $12 for the editing task as my payment and return the $8 for the client.

I hired her at the end of last year to assist with an SEO task, specifically to build high-quality, niche-relevant backlinks with a domain authority of 60 or higher. I was very clear about my expectations, based on working with many virtual assistants in the past.
Nisha initially assured me that she would meet these standards. However, within a couple of months, I noticed that the backlinks she was delivering fell well below what we had agreed upon. When I questioned the lack of results, she suggested an additional service—essentially an upsell—as the solution to improve my domain ranking. Upon further review of the backlinks she had already built, I discovered that many were low quality and did not meet the criteria we had set.
Despite giving her several weeks to correct the issue or provide a better strategy, I received no meaningful updates—only vague reassurances to "be patient." After nearly five months, there has been no improvement in my SEO performance and no corrective action on her part.
To make matters worse, Nisha works under a firm called Web Amica, and this experience leads me to question the quality control and management practices of the agency itself. If you're considering hiring Nisha or anyone from Web Amica, I would strongly advise against it. In my case, the work was subpar, the expectations were not honored, and accountability was completely absent.
This has ultimately been a waste of time and money.
