We had a contract to design & develop our new blog theme and 30 CTA cards which he dragged on forever and then came the development, he dragged it for weeks, came up with excuses upon excuses, blamed others for his errors, didn't accept any corrections.
My rookie mistake was when begged and begged to be paid because of this sister's upcoming wedding engagement, promising he will finish the work after the wedding weekend.
Given that he had some other smaller jobs for us, I begrudgingly agreed after so many hours of pleading both to myself and to our SEO manager --- BIG MISTAKE.
Paid him off on Upwork, something told me I was going to regret it but then the money wasn't too much for us so I took this risk (yeah yeah... I know, right?), and since then it's been 1 story or the other.
His mother is either sick or he has a big headache or he's stuck in some remote village with no internet connection, 1 weekend turned to 1 month, he didn't do any corrections. And then turned around to say we're lucky he even helped us with the design and development of the blog.
His work had so much SEO damage on our blog which we're scampering to fix now.
HE IS NOT A RELIABLE PERSON AT ALL. He can be all sweet when he is begging you to pay him, he can try to pretend he's an effective person but the moment you make that mistake, he will show his colors.
DO NOT HIRE HIM. He makes up excuses even before he is paid, he will blame any error on the job on you, he is a premium gaslighter and has behaviour very close to narcissism. He will take on a job at agreed price, and later start complaining that you didn't pay him well enough to finish the job, that others charge more for the same work. Honestly, he is just a problem and I'm sorry for whoever has to deal with him next.
Learn from my mistakes and avoid this grifter of a person.

Freelancer tried what he could but we had to cancel this project because we noticed he kept using Figma templates for de…Freelancer tried what he could but we had to cancel this project because we noticed he kept using Figma templates for designs, he only customized the templates for our content which is odd considering we were paying $100 for a single short page.
We notified him the first time about using templates and asked for a revision, which he did. At first glance it was okay but once we started doing corrections, we found out it was just another mesh of Figma templates, the only difference is that he did a bit more customization than the first time.
The big problem was that by using templates, he couldn't create a design that followed our brand guidelines which I had shown him from our other page designs on Figma and this was the real camel stroke for us.
To avoid hassles, we just decided to pay him, end the contract, and move on.
Whether he bought, downloaded, or used his templates, it's terrible to customize templates when a client is paying you for a full custom design based on his brand.
If you like template designs or you don't require brand identity, he may be a good hire for you. For us, we're moving on!

Hi, we just launched our Amazon business last month, and we have been doing alright with an average of 2 orders per day. We have two products, and they seem to be doing well for a new business. Our issue is we spend more than we make on ads, and neither my partner nor I has any experience setting up the campaigns for success. If possible, I would like you to create a few campaigns to test over a few days us grow sales and profits. Based on sales and ranking for our first month, we need help getting the ads going and the ACOS down to a profitable level.
