I am looking for a human illustrator for a 32-page picture book for children aged 3–6. No AI-generated work.

The story follows two young mixed African American sisters who discover a tiny Philodendron Birkin plant in their mom's office and nurture it to grow. My production team and I are producing short, animated comedy videos and we’re looking for background artists! We’re currently interviewing background artists to help design and prepare backgrounds specifically for animation so experience in making backgrounds for animation is preferred.

Attached are a couple examples of our backgrounds, we do a lot of vertical and some horizontal bgs.

These backgrounds will be used in animated shorts, so they must be animation-ready, layered correctly, and easy for animators to work with.

I am producing a 2-minute video promo for a nonprofit and need cinematic storyboards for each scene. About the project
Genesis is a 2D dark Metroidvania Soulslike set in a world built from Andalusian baroque and Semana Santa imagery. The game is in active development in Unity 2D. We have a complete Art Bible, environment concept art, and a fully designed protagonist. We need a sprite artist to take the existing character design and produce game-ready animated sprites.

Illustrate a children's or young adult story by Jeremy Wei entitled "Moonlight Fish" that will have 20 color illustrations. The story is a science-fiction story featuring an African main character. The character and origin-setting should be a West African coastal fishing village. The illustrations should have details that reflect African fishing villages . The intended audience for the stories are young readers in rural African villages, aged 10-18. The books are commissioned by a small non-profit called Friends of African Village Libraries www.favl.org, FAVL will print (photocopy or low-cost printing) books for distribution to community libraries in Burkina Faso, Ghana, and Uganda.

The story and preliminary storyboard are in a PDF file attached.

The illustrations should be created in standard drawing software (e.g., Clip Studio, Procreate. or Adobe Illustrator). The illustrations should be original work. The Brand

Oudi is a medical-luxury brand sitting at the intersection of premium dermatology and cosmetic elegance. The logotype must feel intelligent, calm, and unmistakably human, closer to a surgeon's confident signature than a calligrapher's flourish. Think Paul Smith, Wynn, Virgin, Nicole Miller: restraint and confidence over decoration.

The positioning is 70% medical-luxury, 30% cosmetic-luxury. The mark must feel like it belongs on high-end metallic packaging: human, precise, and quietly distinctive.

The Original Concept: Your Starting Point

We have an existing black-and-white logotype concept (attached) that establishes the DNA of this mark. This is your primary reference. Key structural features that must be preserved or evolved:

- The "O" and "d" share near-identical internal counters: the negative space inside both letterforms must feel like the same shape
- The mark reads as one continuous forward motion: the stroke energy flows left to right without feeling constructed or assembled
- The "d" ascender resolves into the "i" dot: the tail of the "d" and the dot of the "i" interact, with the dot sitting in the mid-zone, not floating high
- The "O" entry stroke begins small and tight against the body, not an exaggerated flourish
- The four outer extremities of the mark (upper-left, upper-right, lower-left, lower-right) carry a subtle compositional rhythm: not symmetry, but structural balance

What We Are Looking For

A genuine hand-drawn signature logotype, not a font, not a digital construction, not a calligraphic exercise. The mark must feel as though a confident, intelligent person signed it in one motion. It should have:

- Authentic pen/marker stroke behaviour: subtle pressure variation, natural entry and exit points, no uniform digital smoothness
- Controlled imperfection: not over-smoothed, not theatrical
- Signature energy: written, not drawn; signed, not constructed
- Legibility: "Oudi" must be readable, and the "d" must be identifiable as a "d"

Avoid entirely:
- Decorative flourishes that feel expressive or theatrical
- Script font aesthetics (the "Canva script" look: predictable, forgettable, generic)
- Over-constructed geometry

The Three Concepts Required for Milestone 1

We need three genuinely distinct directions, not three variations of the same idea. Previous candidates submitted variations of one concept for all three slots; this is not acceptable.

Concept 1: Evolved Original
Develop the existing black-and-white concept further. The proportional rhythm is correct, but it must feel more naturally written and less overworked. Reduce any creeping symmetry. The stroke must feel like one confident motion, not an outlined construction.

Concept 2: Open Signature Flow
A slightly more open, less tightly coiled structure than Concept 1. The "u" sits beneath the "d" to form the "i" as in the original concept. The "d" tail connects naturally to the "i" dot. Less top-heavy, more horizontal flow. Must still feel handwritten, not engineered.

Concept 3: Your Own Interpretation
This is your creative contribution. We want a more natural, slightly erratic signature energy, the kind of mark a real person produces when signing something important quickly. Confident, slightly unpredictable, controlled. Elegant restraint. If you cannot produce something genuinely distinctive here, please do not recycle a variation of Concepts 1 or 2.

Before You Apply: Please Confirm

We had a previous engagement that did not progress because the designer was unable to produce genuinely different concepts and struggled to execute true signature-style logotypes at a premium level. Before submitting a proposal, please confirm honestly:

1. You can produce genuine hand-drawn signature work, not digitally simulated, not font-based
2. You have experience with premium brand logotypes at a comparable level to the references cited (Paul Smith, Wynn, Virgin, Nicole Miller, Coca-Cola)
3. You understand the structural requirements above and can apply them precisely
4. You are comfortable with the full technical production phase (vector refinement preserving authentic stroke character, structured AI files, labelled layers, all colour variants, PDF/X exports, README)

Please include examples of genuine hand-drawn signature or script logotype work in your proposal. If your portfolio contains only digital lettering or calligraphy, this may not be the right project for you.
