About the Project We are working on a live audio and social content platform built on Flutter (iOS and Android) with a Go microservices backend. The core feature of our product is real-time phone calls — 1:1 and up to 1:7 — that can be live-streamed to an audience and recorded as permanent content. Our calling infrastructure has two distinct call paths that both need diagnostic attention: • Path 1 — In-App Calls (LiveKit / WebRTC): Users call other users directly through the app. Audio is handled via LiveKit’s SDK over WebRTC. These calls work approximately 70–85% of the time perfectly. The remaining 15–30% of the time, users experience intermittent audio failures, dropped audio, one-way audio, calls failing to initialize that we have not been able to fully diagnose with our internal team. Failures are concentrated on iOS but also can occur on Android. • Path 2 — PSTN Outbound Calls (Twilio): Users can also dial real phone numbers from within the app, placing outbound calls over the public phone network via Twilio. These calls work on iOS but are currently non-functional on Android, but should be. Our Lead Technical Project Manager has been unable to get Twilio PSTN calling to work reliably on Android despite multiple attempts. This is a blocked feature, not an intermittent reliability issue — it does not work as intended right now. What We’re Hiring For This is a diagnostic engagement. Participant sees a ringing/connecting screen indefinitely. • Device-specific audio conflicts (iOS) — Certain iOS devices (observed on iPhone 16) lose audio capability app-wide after using Eazdrop. The same user cannot use voice notes on other apps (e.g., WhatsApp) until the device is restarted. Suggests an iOS Audio Session conflict where our app is not properly releasing or configuring the audio session. • Group call audio degradation — As participants increase from 2 to 5–7, audio quality and stability decrease. Call Path 2: Twilio PSTN (Outbound Phone Number Calls Only) Unlike the LiveKit path, this is not an intermittent reliability problem. PSTN calling via Twilio does not work on Android reliability.
