Update the supplied CAD base to show the raised pool and its surround, the pergola structures in their confirmed positions, the terrace build-up at 277 mm above the structural slab, and drainage channel and outlet positions as marked on our sketches.

DELIVERABLES

D1. Terrace plan at 1:50, updated from the supplied base.
D2. Two sections at 1:20, cut through the pool and through a pergola. Both must show the full build-up from slab to finished surface, dimensioned.
D3. Three elevations at 1:50, showing the terrace and corridor from two directions we will confirm.

NOT IN SCOPE

Structural design or calculation. Pergola fixing details, base plates, bolts or anchors. Waterproofing or drainage design. Selecting finishes, materials, colours, furniture or lighting. Changing anything on the supplied base outside terrace level.

If something on the base is unclear or appears to conflict, raise it with us. Do not resolve it yourself and do not invent a solution. Queries are expected and welcome.

Units in millimetres. Work on the layers already in the supplied file, and put new work on clearly named new layers. Leave the title block blank, we apply our own. Do not mark anything as approved, final or for construction.

We’re seeking a senior software engineer to help build and improve our developer platform and AI enablement systems. You’ll work on core platform infrastructure, API design, and tools that support internal and external developers. This role involves collaborating with product and engineering teams to deliver scalable, reliable, and maintainable solutions. Today: TypeScript throughout. Expo / React Native (SDK 54, expo-router) mobile; Next.js 16 web; Node/Express with Prisma API; Socket.IO realtime; Stripe Connect destination charges; Checkr background checks; Firebase and Expo push. Target: AWS — ECS or App Runner, RDS PostgreSQL with PostGIS, S3; Google Gemini 2.0 Flash for job classification; Google Places and Distance Matrix. None of the AWS layer exists yet and the database is still SQLite.
The role
You will take a working development backend and turn it into something that can take real money from real people in New York. The API is built and covers most of the domain — 15 route groups, 17 data models, Stripe Connect, Checkr, Socket.IO. What it does not have is a production environment. There is no cloud deployment, no container setup, no CI/CD, and the database is still SQLite. That migration and that infrastructure are the job.
What you will do
• Migrate SQLite to PostgreSQL. The Prisma schema is written against SQLite with a note that Postgres is the target. You will do the migration properly — real enums, nullable uniques, indices, and a repeatable seed and migration path.
• Stand up production on AWS. Nothing exists today — no Dockerfile, no CI/CD, no infrastructure-as-code. You will containerise the API onto ECS or App Runner, provision RDS and S3, and build the deploy pipeline, logging, metrics and alerting from scratch.
• Own the money end to end. Stripe Connect is wired for connected accounts, onboarding links and destination charges with an application fee. The lifecycle is missing: authorise on booking with manual capture, capture on confirmed completion, then a seven-day payout lag with a ledger of funds held versus owed. Our balance sheet carries helper payables as a liability and nothing currently produces that number. Plus webhooks, idempotency, refunds, disputes and daily reconciliation against Stripe.
• Own the geo layer, and its bill. Matching shortlists with haversine in application code — deliberately, because it is free and instant. You will move that filter to PostGIS ST_DWithin on a GIST index, then call Google Distance Matrix for travel time on the final shortlist ONLY. Maps bills per element at traffic-aware rates; running it across a whole borough would cost roughly twenty-eight times our entire hosting budget. Caching repeated origin-destination pairs is part of this job.
• Verification pipeline. Checkr is integrated for helper background checks. You will own the lifecycle — webhooks, re-checks, document expiry, and the compliance side of who is allowed to take which category of job.
• Security and data protection. Card data never touches our servers, so our PCI scope is SAQ-A and should stay that way. You will own secrets management, access control, encryption of personal data, and backup and restore that has actually been rehearsed.
• Build the async layer. Everything runs inline in the request today. Gemini calls, Checkr polling, payout batches and notification fan-out all need a queue — SQS or BullMQ. Socket.IO also needs a Redis adapter and sticky sessions before it can run on more than one ECS task.
• Put tests in. There is no test suite. You will introduce one, plus CI that blocks merges on it.
What we need
• 5+ years backend engineering in Node.js and TypeScript. Go or Python elsewhere is fine.
• You have run a real PostgreSQL migration and can talk about what went wrong.
• You have built production cloud infrastructure and CI/CD from nothing, not just maintained someone else's.
• Hands-on Stripe Connect, or an equivalent marketplace payments and payouts system.
• Comfortable with webhooks, idempotency and the ways distributed payment flows fail.
Nice to have
• PostGIS and spatial indexing for dispatch or delivery.

1. Product Overview
SPHERABALL is a compact, substantially spherical, reusable footwear freshness device intended initially for sports shoes. It is designed to be placed inside footwear when the shoes are not being worn.

The product combines a reusable spherical outer housing with a removable internal refill cartridge. The cartridge is intended to contain separated functional media so that different functions can be provided within one compact device.
2. Current Mechanical Design
The current CAD design comprises six principal components:

The current CAD-derived overall component envelope is approximately 55 mm × 55 mm × 57.5 mm. These dimensions describe the present embodiment only and should not unnecessarily limit the patent claims.

The engineering drawing identifies parting-line and moulding considerations and shows the assembled and exploded spherical architecture.
3. Core Concept I Want Protected
The central concept is the combination and architecture of:
• a reusable substantially spherical footwear housing;
• separable housing portions;
• a releasable joining/locking arrangement;
• a removable internal cartridge;
• separated functional chambers or regions within the cartridge;
• contained functional media within those chambers; and
• replacement of the cartridge/refill while allowing the main spherical housing to be reused.

I would like the patent strategy to protect this underlying architecture and its reasonable variations, rather than being restricted unnecessarily to the exact current CAD geometry.
4. Multi-Function Refill System
The current development concept uses separated functional regions within the refill cartridge:
1. Moisture control – e.g. desiccant/moisture-control media.
2. Odour control – e.g. activated carbon, zeolite or other suitable odour-control media.
3. Controlled freshness/fragrance release – e.g. fragrance carriers, beads or encapsulated fragrance.

The three-function formulation is a current embodiment and development direction. It should not be treated as the entire invention. I want the patent strategy to cover alternative numbers and combinations of functional chambers where legally supportable.
5. Containment and Safety Concept
The functional media is intended not to be loose inside the shoe or loose within the spherical housing.

Preferred construction:
1. functional media contained within a sealed or appropriately permeable/semi-permeable pouch;

2. each pouch located within a dedicated cartridge chamber or region; and
3. the cartridge enclosed within the reusable spherical housing.

The objective is physical containment while allowing the relevant moisture, vapours or odour molecules to interact with the functional media as designed.

6. Reusable + Replaceable Refill Architecture
The consumer retains the main SPHERABALL housing and replaces the internal refill cartridge when the functional media is exhausted.

The preferred consumer refill concept is a factory-prepared, contained replacement cartridge rather than requiring the consumer to handle loose beads or individual media. This creates a reusable product platform with replaceable consumable refills.

7. Potentially Inventive Features for Review
I would like the patent attorney to assess, in particular:
• substantially spherical footwear freshness housing;
• two-part spherical housing architecture;
• central/releasable joining arrangement;
• locking-ring based mechanical connection;
• removable internal cartridge;
• cartridge divided into separated functional chambers/regions;
• multiple different functional media within the same refill;
• physical containment of each functional medium;
• controlled exposure/airflow through the cartridge and housing;
• replaceable refill cartridge within a reusable spherical housing; and
• methods of using the device to treat footwear.

I do not want to assume that every individual feature is novel. I want the attorney to assess the combination against relevant prior art.

8. Patent Scope I Would Like to Discuss
Please consider claim protection across several levels:
A. Device claims – complete reusable spherical footwear freshness device.
B. Cartridge claims – removable multi-region/multi-chamber cartridge.
C. Refill-system claims – contained functional media arrangement.
D. Mechanical claims – spherical housing, joining and locking arrangement.
E. Functional/airflow claims – where technically and legally supportable.
F. Method claims – use for footwear freshness/moisture/odour control.

I do not want claims unnecessarily limited to exactly 55 mm, the present CAD dimensions, one plastic material, one formulation, exactly three functions, or one pouch shape. Those details can be embodiments where appropriate.

9. Current Development Status
The product has progressed beyond a purely conceptual stage. CAD/STEP files have been developed for the principal components, and an engineering drawing has been produced.

The current six-part design provides a concrete mechanical embodiment for the patent specification.

Final chamber capacities, media weights, formulations, airflow performance, durability, efficacy and manufacturing tolerances remain development items and should not be represented as established facts unless supported by testing.

10. Manufacturer Disclosure / Confidentiality
The design has been discussed with manufacturers/OEMs for development and tooling. The manufacturers involved signed NNN agreements before receiving the design information.

I will provide copies of the signed agreements and relevant correspondence. I understand that contractual confidentiality protection is separate from patent protection, and I would like the attorney to assess any implications for novelty, priority, filing strategy or international protection.

The primary goal of this project is to design a high-end, minimalist metal enclosure that is highly optimized for low-cost, efficient manufacturing.

We want to achieve a luxury aesthetic while keeping machine cycle times and tooling costs as low as possible. The pod must maximize passive airflow to the internal scent medium - there is no battery, fan, or electronic component of any kind.

Key Design Requirements

1. Two-Piece Assembly The system must be limited strictly to two main components - a Main Lid and a Pod Base - to minimize production complexity and assembly cost.

2. 360° Floating Shadow Gap (Primary Airflow Path) To avoid the cost of machining radial slits or drilling ventilation holes, the front face of the lid stays completely solid. Airflow and scent diffusion are achieved entirely through a continuous perimeter gap created by the lid sitting proud of the base by roughly 2–3mm, forming a hidden 360-degree airway.

This gap is the pod's only functional airflow path, so its width directly controls fragrance release rate and product lifespan - too wide and the pod under-delivers on our 60+ day duration target; too narrow and scent won't reach the room. Please prototype with an adjustable or swappable spacer so the gap can be tested in 0.5mm increments (e.g. 1.5 / 2 / 2.5 / 3mm) before we lock dimensions for die-cast tooling.

3. Lid & Closure Mechanism - Design a cost-effective Quarter-Turn Twist Lock (bayonet-style) closure for easy refill swapping.

We do not want a rubber O-ring in this design. Because the shadow gap is an intentional, permanent leak path by design, a fully airtight seal elsewhere isn't functionally necessary - and a separate elastomer part adds sourcing cost, an assembly step, and a fragrance-compatibility requirement (standard nitrile/EPDM can swell or degrade under prolonged fragrance-oil exposure, requiring a pricier compound like Viton/FKM). Instead, use a tight-tolerance machined metal-to-metal interface at the bayonet joint (external groove/shoulder on the base neck, avoiding expensive internal undercuts inside the lid) - precise enough to keep the unit stable and closed during shipping and handling, without a separate seal component.

4. Rear Mounting Plate - Flat, No Airflow Function The back of the aluminum base plate must be completely solid, with no holes or open channels. 6. Manufacturing Path Optimize the housing for CNC prototyping (Stage 1) with a seamless transition to aluminum die-casting (Stage 2) by incorporating proper draft angles and uniform wall thicknesses from day one.

7. Target an overall pod diameter of approximately 3.5 inches (89mm). The interior chamber should house a thicker ceramic flat disc (roughly 2.5–2.75" diameter, exact size at designer's discretion) sized for higher fragrance-oil capacity via added thickness rather than added diameter - this keeps the visible footprint compact while still hitting the 60+ day duration target. We are looking for an experienced **Mechanical Engineer / Product Development Engineer** to help us develop the mechanical design and CAD for an accurate tea dispensing device.

The project involves developing a dispensing mechanism capable of accurately and consistently dispensing a controlled amount of loose-leaf tea. The ideal candidate should have strong experience with **mechanism design, precision dispensing systems, mechanical engineering, and product development**.

I run a small software company with four live web applications. I'm bringing the first of them to iOS and Android, and I'm looking for one engineer to be my mobile partner across the portfolio.

This contract covers ONE app. If it goes well, there are three more behind it, plus ongoing release work. I would much rather find one person and keep working with them than re-hire every time.

WHAT THE APP IS

A youth sports highlight reel app for parents. They film a clip at their kid's game on their phone, upload it, and the app produces a finished highlight reel. It's live today as a web app and works well in the browser.

THE CORE PROBLEM TO SOLVE

On iOS, uploads die the moment the phone locks or the user switches apps. A parent films a 7-minute clip, taps upload, puts the phone in their pocket, and the upload fails. The app already uses Mux Direct Upload with the TUS protocol, which handles resumability but not backgrounding.

I need that wired to a native background upload path - background URLSession on iOS, a foreground service on Android - so a 7-minute video finishes uploading with the screen locked. This is the single most important part of the job.

THE APPROACH I'VE DECIDED ON

I am NOT looking for a rewrite. The web app works and I'll keep building it on my current platform after launch, so the architecture has to preserve that.

- Export the React/Vite source to GitHub
- Wrap with Capacitor 7, bundled web assets
- Add an OTA live-update layer (Capgo or equivalent) so JS and copy changes ship without store review
- Add native plugins for the capabilities below

TERMS

Fixed price, milestone-based, funded in escrow. Each milestone has a concrete acceptance test - for example, the background upload milestone is not complete until I watch a video of a 7-minute upload finishing on a real device with the screen locked. Simulator proof won't be accepted. A portion of the total is retained until two weeks after both stores approve.

Country doesn't matter. Experience and communication do.

Our architectural design team is preparing measured drawings for a fire escape/balcony replacement project in Lewiston, ME, and we're looking to bring on a structural engineer licensed in the state of Maine to collaborate on the engineering review and stamp.
