About the Role
We need an experienced Ecommerce SEO Specialist to lead strategic audits and ongoing iterative testing, strengthening organic performance across traditional and AI search. The role requires deep technical SEO, content optimization, experiment design, advanced visibility tracking, and a strong focus on ecommerce revenue impact. As an agency partner, you will audit, track, and attribute performance improvements. This is an ongoing engagement focused on active experimentation as AI/LLM search evolves.

This role is primarily strategic and analytical. Implementation may be shared between the freelancer, our agency team, and the client’s developers. The freelancer is expected to provide clear specifications, validation, and QA - not to act as a full-time implementer unless explicitly agreed.

Scope of Work
1. Comprehensive SEO & AI Search Audits
- Perform full technical SEO & AIO audit (crawl health, indexation, site architecture, schema, performance metrics).
- Audit ecommerce surfaces including product pages (PDPs), category/listing pages (PLPs), and landing pages for optimization opportunities.
- Identify gaps in how product pages and category pages are optimize for modern relevance signals (structured data, semantic/content clarity, intent alignment).
- Audit existing content structure and strategy to find testing and experimentation opportunities.
- Evaluate site readiness for AI search visibility (e.g., AI overviews, LLM citations, entity signals).

2. Iterative Testing & Optimization
- Design, run, and evaluate controlled experiments aimed at improving visibility signals relevant to AI-assisted search (e.g. content structure, entity clarity, schema, internal linking), with clear documentation of learnings and limitations.
- Liaise with the client’s development team to implement changes and validate fixes.

3. AI & LLM Search Visibility Strategy
- Define and apply strategies to improve discoverability in AI-assisted searches (e.g., Google SGE, chatbot/LLM responses, generative overviews).
- Structure content with AI discovery in mind: entity cues, conversational Q&A, FAQ blocks, semantic grouping.

4. Performance Tracking & Attribution
- Build and maintain dashboards to track organic KPIs: traffic, rankings, conversions, revenue attribution, and AI visibility signals.
- Define metrics and reporting frameworks that capture both traditional SEO impact and AI search performance.
- Integrate performance data with GA4, Search Console, AI search monitoring tools, sprint/cycle reviews, and product analytics.
- Provide regular performance reports (bi-weekly/monthly) with clear insights and next steps.

5. Cross-Functional Collaboration & Leadership
- Work with the SEO team, content, product, UX, and development client teams to align optimization priorities with broader business goals.
- Present findings and recommendations to agency + client stakeholders with clarity and authority.
- Help standardize SEO workflows and documentation to scale iterative programs.

Qualifications & Skills
- Demonstrated experience leading ecommerce SEO initiatives where:

- Experience optimizing for AI search visibility / Generative Engine Optimization (GEO/AEO).
- Understanding of ecommerce analytics, customer journeys, and revenue attribution modeling.
