1) They are an agency. If you are looking for someone who is focused on your project and not juggling ten others at the same time, this is not the place to go.
2) They are slow learners. There were multiple moments where I genuinely questioned whether hiring them was a mistake. They relied on ChatGPT to figure out things that our internal team and other freelancers already understood — and I’m not talking about complex or cutting-edge material. These were fundamental items.
3) No urgency. Even when urgency was clearly communicated in group settings with multiple stakeholders involved, they stuck rigidly to their allocated hours. They made it very clear they would not allocate extra time or work weekends to meet deadlines, even when timelines were critical.
4) They take things personally. When we informed them — politely — that we would be asking other vendors to handle work they could not complete on time, the response turned confrontational. We were accused of mischaracterizing proposals and creating deadlines that were “never agreed upon,” despite prior discussions.
5) Everything expands. Tasks tend to stretch. If there is a way to extend scope or bill more hours, it will happen. I enabled manual time tracking because I’ve been burned before, and even then, looking back, there are significant billed hours where I honestly cannot justify what was accomplished.
6) They cannot perform under pressure. If you are building something fast, running a high-performance operation, or launching something important, this is not the team for you. When things get intense, they become rigid, defensive, and transactional. If you don’t operate strictly within their structure, they will disengage — even when you need them most.
Be very careful before committing here.

We are looking for an experienced Voice AI Developer to finalize our existing voice agent, "TING". The agent acts as a coach for difficult negotiations and conversations.
Our Approach (Budget & Opportunity):
Since we have already completed most of the groundwork (code, server, logic, design), we are specifically looking for someone who has likely built a similar solution before and can finalize our project efficiently within a lean budget. Successful and efficient completion of this project can lead to a long-term business partnership for future automation and AI projects.
The Core Challenge (Business Critical!): Strict GDPR compliance is mandatory.
- All audio processing (STT & TTS) MUST occur on EU endpoints/servers.
- US-only processing (like standard Vapi or ElevenLabs US) is strictly excluded.
- We currently have a LiveKit implementation that connects but fails to successfully transmit audio via the required EU endpoints.
What is already done (Assets provided): You are not starting from scratch. We provide:
- Existing Codebase: A nearly complete LiveKit agent (Python) with integration attempts for Deepgram, Azure, and Speechmatics.
- Backend Logic: The logic, knowledge base, and RAG pipeline are ready and accessible via n8n.
- Infrastructure: Server and token service are set up. A Hostinger VPS (self-hosted) is available if needed.
- Frontend: A complete user interface design is ready.
Your Responsibilities:
- Fix the Connectivity: Configure the agent to successfully send/receive audio using strictly EU-based endpoints.
- Stack Flexibility: You may fix our current LiveKit approach OR simply deploy your own proven stack/template (as long as it is GDPR/EU compliant and connects to our n8n backend). We want the path of least resistance for you.
- Performance: Ensure a natural conversational flow (low latency, interruptibility, pleasant German female voice).
Requirements:
- Proven experience building real-time Voice Agents.
- Experience with n8n.
- English language proficiency is required. German is a plus but not necessary (the agent's content is already prepared).
