About the Role
We are seeking an experienced AI Developer (freelance) to design and build a custom, private ChatGPT-style assistant that will become the digital face of Truly Engaging’s customer support experience. Your mission: help us create a 24/7/365 virtual assistant that’s fast, factual, fun—and feels just like us.

This AI chatbot will integrate with our internal customer/order systems and Freshdesk support platform to provide live, intelligent, and brand-aligned responses to all customer inquiries. Key Responsibilities
Architect, develop, and deploy a custom conversational AI assistant using OpenAI GPT or similar LLM technologies.

Integrate the assistant with:

Our internal order/customer database via secure API.

Our Freshdesk ticketing and chat platform.

A web interface and potentially phone (voice) support via telephony APIs.

Implement a Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) system that uses company FAQs, documents, and call transcripts to ground the assistant’s responses in accurate internal knowledge.

Build a system to track all inquiries and responses, feeding data into a dashboard or format that highlights customer pain points and business opportunities.

Tune the assistant’s tone and voice to match the Truly Engaging brand: warm, friendly, fast, and helpful.

Ensure user data privacy, security, and compliance standards are met.

Test, monitor, and iterate through MVP and full rollout by Fall 2025.

Document your work clearly to enable future internal team ownership and iteration.

Required Skills & Experience
Proven experience building AI chatbots using GPT-4, OpenAI APIs, or similar LLMs.

Strong knowledge of LangChain, RAG pipelines, vector databases (e.g., Pinecone, Weaviate), and prompt engineering.

Experience integrating chatbots with external systems and APIs, ideally with CRMs or e-commerce platforms.

Experience with Freshdesk API or similar customer support tools a major plus.

Solid backend development skills (Python preferred, Node.js also acceptable).
