At Clavell Media we are looking for a skilled 2D Animator to bring historical scripts to life. You will be working with a separate Illustrator who will provide the character assets. Your job is to rig these characters and make them act.
We don't want static slide-shows. We want dynamic character animation (soldiers marching, generals arguing, battle scenes) mixed with map visualizations.

Responsibilities:
Character Rigging: Take the vector parts (heads, arms, torsos) provided by the Illustrator and build "rigs" (skeletons) so the characters can move realistically.
Character Animation: Animate scenes of dialogue, combat, and movement. The characters need to have weight and personality.
Compositing: specific visual effects (smoke, gunfire, weather) to blend the characters into the background.
Camera Movement: Use 2D camera tools to create cinematic pans and zooms.
Sound Design: Sourcing and layering high quality sound effects(swords clashing, tain, footsteps, crowd noise, etc), selecing and mixing background music that matches the emotional tone of the script.
Experience with Cut-Out / Puppet Animation: You know how to animate using "bones" or "pins" (using tools like Duik Bassel for After Effects or standard rigs in Animate/Toon Boom).
Visual Storytelling: You can take a script line like "The army struggled through the winter" and animate a scene that conveys cold and exhaustion.
Audio Sync: Ability to sync character movements/mouths to the voiceover narration.

We are a nonprofit organization looking for an experienced designer to transform our fully-written lesson plans into visually engaging, on-brand workbooks for youth. Everything needed to complete the project is provided, including lesson plans, brand guidelines, cover design direction, and animated cartoon characters.
The designer’s role will be to create polished, kid-friendly workbook layouts that are visually engaging and easy to read. Work should consistently reflect our brand identity, incorporate provided illustrations and graphics, and deliver print-ready PDFs. Optionally, interactive PDFs are a plus. Designers should also feel free to suggest layout or visual enhancements that improve readability and engagement, while remaining aligned with our brand direction.
This project includes 2 workbooks, each averaging 30 pages. We expect high-quality design work that follows our existing creative direction, with realistic timelines for review and revisions. A small test page may be requested before committing to full workbook design.
Required skills and experience include graphic design and layout expertise (Adobe InDesign, Illustrator, or equivalent), experience creating educational materials or workbooks for youth, strong typography and layout skills, and the ability to work with illustrations and minor animations. Experience producing interactive PDFs or other digital learning materials is a plus.
We are seeking a designer who can take our content and assets and turn them into professional, visually exciting workbooks that make learning enjoyable and engaging for youth.
