Creative Director / Art Director for Dutch Football Streetwear Brand

About the project
I'm working on a new Dutch football-inspired streetwear brand and I'm looking for a creative person who can help shape the visual identity and creative direction from the ground up.
The brand is rooted in Dutch football culture, iconic football memories and nostalgia, but the ambition is to translate that into something that feels relevant to modern fashion and streetwear.
The goal is not to create traditional football merchandise.
Think:
football culture × Dutch identity × nostalgia × contemporary streetwear
I already have the concept and the first T-shirt design, but I don't consider myself a creative or designer.
I'm an entrepreneur, and I know what I want the brand to mean. What I'm missing is someone who can translate that into a strong visual world.
This is where you come in
- I'm looking for someone who can take creative ownership.
- I don't want to give you a strict list of fonts, colours and layouts and ask you to execute them.
Quite the opposite.
I want you to look at the concept and tell me:
- "This is what I think this brand should look and feel like."
- You are free to challenge what I've already created.
You can:
redesign the logo
rethink the visual identity
change the typography
explore different colours
develop the graphic language
reinterpret the existing T-shirt
develop the photography direction
create the social media aesthetic
influence the website direction
suggest packaging and campaign ideas
completely change the current creative direction if you think it would make the brand stronger
Nothing is fixed.
The core idea and first product are the starting point — not the final answer.
The creative challenge
The brand is connected to Dutch football, but I don't want it to look like a football merchandise company.
It should feel like something people would genuinely want to wear even if they didn't know the football story behind it.
The football connection should make the clothing more meaningful — not make it look like merchandise.
What I want to see
For the initial project, I want you to develop your interpretation of the brand.
This could include:
Creative direction / moodboard
Visual identity direction
Logo exploration
Typography
Colour direction
Graphic language
Photography / campaign direction
Instagram direction
Product presentation
1–2 example campaign/social concepts
I'm not looking for a massive finished brand book.
I'm primarily interested in your creative thinking and visual taste.
Who I'm looking for
You might call yourself:
Creative Director
Art Director
Brand Designer
Fashion Designer
Visual Designer
Graphic Designer
Creative Strategist
The title doesn't matter much to me.
Your portfolio and your taste matter much more.
I'm particularly interested in people who have worked with:
Fashion
Streetwear
Football / sports
Music
Youth culture
Lifestyle brands
Editorial projects
You don't need to have worked with huge brands.
I'm more interested in someone with a distinctive creative eye.
How I'd like to work
I'm deliberately looking for someone who can think independently.
I don't want to micromanage the creative process.
I'll provide the initial concept, product and context, and then I want to give you room to interpret it.
If you think something I've created is weak, tell me.
If you think the logo should be completely different, show me.
If you think I'm approaching the brand in the wrong way, challenge me.
That's exactly what I'm hiring you for.
Initial project
I'd like to start with a small paid creative exploration.
This is intentionally a test for both of us.
I'd like to understand:
What do you see when you look at this concept?
If we have a strong creative fit, there is potential for ongoing work as the brand develops.
To apply
Please send:
1. Your portfolio
2. Your price for the initial creative exploration
3. A short introduction
4. Tell me in a few sentences:
How would you approach creating a modern streetwear brand rooted in Dutch football culture without making it feel like football merchandise?
5. Show me 3 projects from your portfolio that best represent your personal creative taste.
Please don't send a generic proposal.
I'm much more interested in your eye and your ideas than your CV.
Apparel Graphic Designer & Illustrator for Coastal Lifestyle Brand
Applied
$100

Knotbound is a New Jersey based coastal lifestyle apparel brand built around our “Live Untethered” message.
We’re looking for a graphic designer/illustrator to create original T shirt graphics for upcoming collections, with the potential for ongoing work if we find the right fit.
We’d like to start with two designs. One will be for a fall/autumn collection inspired by travel, coastal life, adventure, and getting outside. The second will be a deep sea fishing inspired graphic that feels like a Knotbound lifestyle piece rather than a traditional fishing shirt.
Website: https://knotboundco.com
We’re looking for a vintage inspired surf and coastal aesthetic with influences from travel, adventure, the outdoors, fishing, surfing, and life around the water.
We like hand drawn illustration, strong typography, vintage and retro styling, simple but interesting compositions, and limited color palettes that translate well to screen printing.
***Original artwork only. No generative AI.***
The designs should feel authentic, wearable, and thoughtfully designed. We are not looking for generic surf graphics, tourist shirt designs, clip art, or predictable combinations of sunsets, palm trees, surfboards, and waves.
We want each graphic to have a concept, story, or subtle connection to the Knotbound lifestyle rather than simply putting our name on a coastal illustration.
Designs may include a small left chest or center chest graphic, a larger full back graphic, or coordinated front and back artwork depending on the concept.
Final artwork should be production ready and include editable source/vector files suitable for limited color screen printing.
Our starting budget is $50 USD per completed and approved graphic. We’re starting with two designs for a total initial budget of $100.
If the first projects go well, we’re looking for someone we can continue working with on future collections and releases. We would much rather develop an ongoing relationship with the right designer than hire someone different for every graphic.
Upscale & Prep 4 AI-Generated Illustrations for T-Shirt Printing (DTG) to be made print-ready
Applied
$60
3
I have 4 AI-generated teddy bear illustrations (collegiate style, painterly texture, dark green/black textured backgrounds) that I want printed on t-shirts via DTG/DTF. The source files are low resolution (769–1536px on the long edge — full-res files attached) and need to be made print-ready.
**Scope of work:**
1. AI-upscale each design to 300 DPI at final print size — minimum 3600px on the long edge (roughly a 12" print width)
2. Clean up compression noise and artifacts while preserving the painterly/canvas texture — do not over-smooth
3. Do NOT auto-trace or vectorize. These are textured illustrations, not flat logos; tracing would destroy the look
4. Re-typeset the small caption text under each design ("Tuck Winters," "Tuck Ice," etc.) in a matching elegant serif font, rather than upscaling the tiny text pixels — keep the captions white, since these are going on dark garments
5. Remove the backgrounds to transparent — only the bears and captions print, with clean natural edges around the fur. Preserve the painterly texture; don't over-smooth the mask edges into a cutout look
6. Light color correction for print if needed
**Deliverables:**
- 4 print-ready PNGs with transparent backgrounds, sRGB color, 300 DPI at final size
- Your working/source files (PSD or equivalent)
- A short note flagging anything you couldn't fully fix — one file is much lower-res than the others and I'll point out which
**You're a good fit if you:**
- Have done print prepress or DTG/DTF file prep before (apparel experience strongly preferred)
- Have access to a quality AI upscaler — please name the tool you use (e.g., Topaz Gigapixel)
- Can clean up images and mask fur edges without scrubbing away texture
**To apply, please include:**
1. Which upscaling tool you use
2. One example of a raster image you prepped for apparel printing
3. Your turnaround time and fixed-price quote
.
We are looking for creative concepts for a merchandise T-shirt design centered around XTTC /
EXTATIC as a label and brand
The goal is to create a shirt that feels connected to the underground electronic music and rave
scene, while being strong enough to function as a standalone fashion piece.
The goal is to create something people would wear because the design itself is strong, while
simultaneously building recognition for EXTATIC.
Title: Apparel Graphic Finisher Needed for 3 Existing T-Shirt Designs
I have 3 approved T-shirt artworks containing same functional QR code. The designs currently look too pale and flat when placed on garment mockups, and the architectural elements need stronger depth and a more convincing 3D appearance.
I have another completed design that will be provided as the visual standard for the required contrast, depth and overall print presence.
This is an enhancement and print-finishing task, not a redesign. The QR geometry must remain completely unchanged and fully scannable.
**Required deliverables:**
* Production-ready transparent artwork, 4500 × 5400 px at 300 DPI
* Layered editable source file
* Stronger contrast, opacity, lighting, shadows and architectural depth
* Versions suitable for garment colors exits in the link https://www.printful.com/dashboard/custom/mens/shirts/unisex-organic-oversized-high-neck-t-shirt-stanley-stella-satu020
* Final garment mockups for review
i need this ai generated image made into a file that can be printed off and used as a wrap or stickers for the side of a boat, cups, hats, what ever. i have more information if excepted and could you give me a approximate cost and the fastest you can do it please.
I need an original flat illustration for an apparel project. I require full commercial rights and ownership of the final artwork upon payment.
The illustration
An original flat illustration of a fictional GT racing coupe seen from the side. The car should be your own original design — do not copy or trace any real car. It should feel like it belongs to the era of 1960s–70s endurance racing: long hood, fastback roofline, wide arches, low stance. The car should be at a very slight forward lean suggesting speed and weight transfer — not static, not a showroom pose.
Style
Flat illustration with visible ink bleed and screen print grain texture. Halftone decay on shadow areas. Lines clean and deliberate but the texture should feel worn — like something pulled off a pit wall. Reference aesthetic: Brain Dead graphics, early Cav Empt, vintage factory team apparel.
What goes on the illustration
The original car, dominant, taking up most of the composition
Race number 8 on the door, bold, slightly weathered
Small text reading AFTERBURN underneath — like a team name stenciled on, not a headline
Nothing else
Color
Two colors maximum on a dark background. Preferred: off-white or cream on black, OR rich red and black. No blue and orange.
What to avoid
Copying or referencing any real specific car silhouette
Photorealistic rendering
Poster layouts with lots of text
Gradients
More than two ink colors
Centered symmetrical composition
File deliverable
Vector file — AI or EPS format. Transparent background PNG also included. Payment includes two rounds of revisions before final file delivery.
Looking for someone to bring my ideas to life! I run a club volleyball program and need some cute and trendy clothing ideas!
Right now I am looking for someone to design a large text design for the back of a sweatshirt. I included what I have start but I am not loving any of it.
I also have a hunting brand so bonus if you enjoy hunting and outdoors and have a creative eye for that!
Illustrator Needed to Refine Vintage T-Shirt & Merchandise Artwork
Applied
$150
3
I’m looking for an experienced graphic designer / illustrator to refine and prepare an existing set of artwork for my husband’s 40th birthday merchandise.
The designs and compositions already exist. I am not looking for a redesign from scratch.
The artwork was created with AI assistance and is already close to the desired result. I need a designer with strong Photoshop/Illustrator skills to professionally polish it: correct small AI artifacts, improve portrait likeness and object details where needed, clean up typography, maintain consistency, and prepare the final files for print.
The visual style is warm vintage tropical cocktail-bar / retro surf-shirt illustration, with a realistic illustrated finish.
Project scope
The final set includes:
4 T-shirt back designs — all based on the SAME master artwork; only the personalized bottom text/icons change.
1 existing logo/emblem — refinement and print preparation.
2 coaster designs — one existing design to refine, plus one new complementary coaster to create in the same visual style.
Total: 7 final print files, but most are variations/refinements of artwork that already exists.
I will provide the selected designer with the existing artwork, portrait photos, object references and a detailed brief explaining all personal Easter eggs and exact text.
Important
I need controlled manual editing, not complete AI regeneration.
When correcting one element, the rest of the approved artwork should remain unchanged. Experience with Photoshop compositing, retouching, digital painting and cleaning up AI-generated artwork is therefore important.
The final artwork should feel polished and professional while preserving the existing design and vintage character.
Deliverables
Print-ready files for all final designs, including:
high-resolution PNG
print-ready PDF
editable source files (PSD/AI or equivalent)
transparent backgrounds where appropriate
300 DPI at final print size
proper bleed/safe area as required for production

Hi, we would like to convert our garment designs into vector line drawings. Please check the attached screenshots. I have included one of our jacket designs along with an example of the specific line drawing style we need.

- Style: Creative and culturally respectful
Ideal Skills & Experience:

### About us
We’re **Nono** — a small UK print & apparel brand (Sam + Eve) shifting into a dedicated children’s niche. We already sell hand-drawn wall prints and adult tees with small embroidered chest motifs. Next: kids/toddler tees and more print ranges in the same playful, colourful, slightly wonky hand-drawn style.
### What you’ll do
Ongoing illustration support for:
- **Wall art / print designs** (nursery & kids, gift-friendly)
- **T-shirt / embroidery-ready chest graphics** — small (approx. 3.5–4.5cm), simple, colourful, easy to read at patch size
- Occasional **seasonal** motifs
You’ll work from briefs and references we provide, match our existing style, and deliver print-ready files.
### Must-have
- Proven work designed **for print** (not only digital/social) — show it in your portfolio
- **Established, consistent illustration style** (we’re hiring a look, not a different vibe every week)
- Comfortable simplifying designs so they work small (chest embroidery / patch scale)
- Clean vector or embroidery-friendly artwork (AI / SVG / PDF + PNG)
- Reliable communication and happy with iterative feedback
### Nice to have
- Experience with **apparel / embroidery** art (limited colours, chunky shapes)
- Kids / nursery illustration
- Packaging or small-brand merch
### First paid test (definition of done to start)
1–2 small chest-graphic concepts matching our style (~4cm, limited colours), plus one mock on a white kids tee. If it’s a fit, we move to ongoing work (print series + tee graphics).
### How to apply
Please include:
1. Links to **3–5 portfolio pieces** closest to hand-drawn / print / kids work
2. 2–3 sentences on why your style fits a playful children’s brand
3. Confirmation you can work from reference and take art direction
Applications without relevant portfolio samples won’t be considered.
Client's questions:
Please share links to 3–5 portfolio pieces closest to hand-drawn / print / kids work.
In 2–3 sentences, why does your style fit a playful children’s brand?
Confirm you can work from reference and take art direction.
Graphic Designer needed for Japanese Streetwear Brand
Applied
$10 - $60

I'm looking for a graphic designer with a strong editorial eye to help build out the visual identity and ongoing creative for PriamPermes, a minimalist japanese streetwear brand
The aesthetic I'm after is high-fashion minimalism with a street edge. Think Balenciaga's stark, oversized typography and deadpan campaign imagery, Celine's restrained monochrome elegance and generous white space, Polyhollywood's raw, lo-fi luxury feel, and the clean, quiet precision of Japanese street style brands. Muted palettes, heavy use of negative space, sharp sans-serif type, and imagery that feels shot rather than designed. Less is more, but every detail has to be intentional.
Scope will start with [e.g., logo refresh and brand guidelines, social templates, product/packaging mockups, lookbook layouts, web hero graphics] and can grow into an ongoing monthly retainer for the right person.
You're a good fit if your portfolio already lives in this world. I'm not looking for someone to learn the style on this project; I want to see work that shows you understand restraint, typography, and grid-based layout, and that you can make something feel expensive with very few elements. Experience with fashion, beauty, or lifestyle brands is a big plus, as is comfort with Figma or Adobe CC and delivering print-ready and web-ready files.
To apply, please share 3 to 5 pieces from your portfolio that match this direction (skip anything that doesn't), a short note on which reference resonates most with you and why, and your rate and availability. Applications that open with a generic template will be skipped.
Im looking to get 2 designs made. The first is a logo and the 2nd is a wordmark.
1. For the logo, I'm looking for A skeleton 'Special Forces Operator' in full tactical kit (plate carrier, helmet, comms setup) mid-throw, capturing a powerful, athletic disc golf throwing posture with the disc a few feet from his hand.
Vibe: Gritty, detailed, and illustrated—think high-end tactical morale patch style, not cartoonish.
I will Include a couple of reference photos for you to see the uniforms and gear, and a reference photo of someone throwing a disc.
2. Wordmark
The wordmark is:
SOFdiscs
Layout: Clean, modern, with with "SOF" and "discs' being 2 different fonts - think sleek, tactical military, but not cartoonish or "truck stop t shirt" design style either. Maybe incorporating a disc into the "i" in "discs."
I'd like one where The 'SOF' is in a sharp tactical green accent, with 'discs' in black to contrast it, and another where its all black.
SOFdiscs is a tactical and fitness aesthetic disc golf apparel and acessories brand. Being a member of 20th Special Forces Group out of Jackson, MS, my goal with SOFdiscs is to raise awareness to service members about disc golf, its fitness applications, the community, and the therapeutic aspects I and so many others have found in it. With that I hope to bridge the gap between the military, the Special Operations community, fitness, and the disc golf community, and to offer sleek, "tactical" style apparel that moves away from the traditional neon colored designs that frequent the disc golf apparel world.

Portrait Illustrator & T-Shirt Designer for Special Memorial Shirt
Applied
$250
3
I am looking for a talented portrait illustrator and T-shirt designer to create a very special shirt for approximately 15 friends who will be participating together in The Bloody Long Walk – Mornington Peninsula, Australia.
We are doing the walk in memory of my late son, Bogdan.
The main element of the design will be an artistic portrait of Bogdan created from photographs I will provide. It is very important that the portrait genuinely resembles him and captures his personality. I do not want a photograph simply placed on a shirt or processed through an AI/filter effect.
I would like the design to feel beautiful, warm, artistic, understated and timeless. Although it is a memorial shirt, I do not want it to feel like a funeral shirt. The feeling should be about Bogdan, love, memory, life and continuing presence.
I would also like to incorporate selected words from “Besmrtna pesma” (Immortal Poem) by Serbian poet Miroslav Mika Antić, in the original Serbian and in English.
Two passages that are particularly important to me are:
„Noću,
kad gledaš u nebo,
i ti namigni meni.
Neka to bude tajna.”
and
„Upamti: to ja još uvek
šašav letim, i živim.”
The imagery from the poem could inspire the artwork — the night sky, a wink, a comet and a light trail across the sky. I imagine these elements being subtle rather than dominating the design.
I am thinking of a front and back design. The front could centre around Bogdan's portrait and his name. The back could use selected Serbian and English poetry with subtle imagery inspired by the poem. However, I am very open to the artist's ideas and would like you to bring your own creativity to the concept.
Please avoid generic memorial imagery such as angel wings, halos, large hearts and clip-art.
What I need:
Custom portrait/illustration of Bogdan from supplied photographs
Complete front and back T-shirt design
2–3 initial creative concepts
Revisions to the selected concept
Professional print-ready artwork
High-resolution transparent PNG/PDF
Editable/vector source files where appropriate (AI/EPS/SVG)
Front and back shirt mock-ups
The quality of the portrait is the most important part of this project.
When applying, please show me 2–3 examples of portraits you have personally created from real photographs. I am particularly interested in seeing how well you capture the person's likeness while still creating something artistic.
Please also tell me briefly how you would approach this particular design rather than sending a generic proposal.
My listed budget is US$250 fixed price, but I am willing to pay more for an exceptional artist whose portrait style is right for this project.
This project means a great deal to me, so I am looking for someone who will approach it with genuine care.
Client's questions:
Please share 2–3 examples of portraits you have personally created from real photographs. I am looking for a strong likeness to the person while still having an artistic quality. Please only include work that you personally created.
I'm seeking a talented designer to create provocative and eye-catching t-shirt designs. These shirts will feature bold and vibrant graphics or texts that capture attention and spark conversation.
Key Requirements:
- Design bold and vibrant graphics or texts for graphic t-shirts, underwear
- Experience in creating provocative and attention-grabbing designs
- Ability to provide past work samples
- Submit detailed project proposals
Ideal Skills and Experience:
- Proficiency in graphic design software (e.g., Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop)
- Strong portfolio showcasing bold and vibrant designs
- Experience in apparel design, particularly t-shirts
-Have an edgy personality/living on the edge mindset.
Please ensure your application includes relevant past work and a detailed project proposal.

Shopify Print-on-Demand T-Shirt Store – Full Setup & Launch
Applied

Hi Qamar,
I’m looking for someone to fully build and launch an online clothing store for me from start to finish.
The concept is a relationship/dating-themed T-shirt brand using short, relatable quotes and statements. I already have the concept and ideas for the wording, but I need someone who can take this and turn it into a professional, fully functioning business.
I’m currently considering Shopify with Printful for print-on-demand and fulfilment, but I’m open to your professional recommendation if you believe there is a better setup.
Initially, I’d like around 10 different designs, available across suitable men’s and women’s T-shirt styles. I would need you to handle the full setup, including the store design, product creation, mock-ups, Printful/fulfilment integration, payment setup, shipping settings and making sure everything works correctly on mobile.
The main source of traffic will be my Instagram, so the end goal is to have one professional link I can add to my Instagram where people can browse the products and purchase easily.
I’m looking for this to be completely ready to sell when the project is finished, rather than just having the basic website created. I’ve looked through your reviews and previous work, which is why I wanted to contact you directly.
Is this something you could take care of from start to finish, and could you let me know what you would recommend for the best setup?
I need an illustrator to bring my T-shirt design ideas to life. The work includes creating original artwork, refining concepts, and preparing final designs for production. I’m looking for someone who can translate my vision into clear, polished graphics that are ready to use for T-shirt printing. Please share examples of similar work and your approach to turning ideas into finished designs.
Streetwear Graphic Designer for Christian Apparel Brand (T-Shirts & Hoodies)
Applied
$50

About us We're building a Christian streetwear/apparel brand — premium T-shirts and hoodies, with jewelry (chains) coming later. Our category is faith-driven design with a real streetwear edge, not church-gift-shop clipart. We're looking for a long-term design partner, not a one-off gig — if the first designs land well, this turns into ongoing, recurring work.
What we need Original graphic designs for T-shirts and hoodies: front/back prints, typography-driven pieces, and illustrative/iconographic designs. Print-ready files, done right the first time.
The benchmark — and why we don't want a copy Look at the bestsellers on truesense-clo.com and marraken.de: medieval saints and warrior-angels (St. George, Archangel Michael), Latin phrases ("Deus Vult"), Orthodox cross iconography, and slogans like "Faith Over Fear" and "Jesus Saves" — all rendered in a mystical, detailed, streetwear-native style. That's the category and quality bar. We are explicitly NOT asking you to redraw these designs or lightly reskin them. We want designs that are more original, more striking, and more elevated than both of these brands — your own creative take on faith-driven streetwear, not a trace-over. If your samples look like a direct copy of an existing design, that's a red flag for us, not a green light.
Scope of work
Original concept + finished artwork for T-shirt and hoodie prints (front, back, sleeve placements)
Mix of styles: bold typography/lettering, illustrative/iconographic art (saints, symbols, biblical scenes), and simpler minimal marks
Print-ready delivery: vector where appropriate, correct resolution/DPI, color-separated files if needed for screen printing, plus flat mockups for our store
Understanding of how designs actually print on garments (placement, scale, contrast on dark vs. light fabric) — not just designs that look good on a screen
What you need to show us — this is not optional We want serious, proven designers, not generic freelancers. To be considered, your proposal must include:
3–5 portfolio examples specifically of apparel/merch designs you created (T-shirts, hoodies) — ideally ones that were actually printed and sold, not just concept art.
If possible, show the design and the product it ended up on (mockup or real photo) — we want proof you understand print production, not just illustration.
Your Upwork profile should show a verifiable track record: completed jobs, visible Job Success Score, and client reviews. If you're newer to Upwork, point us to outside proof (a shop you've designed for, sales numbers if you can share them, social proof).
A one-line note on which of the two reference brands' designs you'd personally push further creatively, and how.
