I am looking for a talented portrait illustrator and T-shirt designer to create a very special shirt for approximately 15 friends who will be participating together in The Bloody Long Walk – Mornington Peninsula, Australia.

We are doing the walk in memory of my late son, Bogdan.

The main element of the design will be an artistic portrait of Bogdan created from photographs I will provide. It is very important that the portrait genuinely resembles him and captures his personality. I do not want a photograph simply placed on a shirt or processed through an AI/filter effect.

I would like the design to feel beautiful, warm, artistic, understated and timeless. Although it is a memorial shirt, I do not want it to feel like a funeral shirt. The feeling should be about Bogdan, love, memory, life and continuing presence.

I would also like to incorporate selected words from “Besmrtna pesma” (Immortal Poem) by Serbian poet Miroslav Mika Antić, in the original Serbian and in English.

That is what I’m trying to create: a small, niche Southern California lifestyle brand that happens to represent Manhattan Beach — not a souvenir brand.

I want it to have that “if you know, you know” quality. Something a local teenager or surfer would wear, but also something an affluent 50- or 60-year-old resident could wear on a clean baseball cap or T-shirt. And when someone visits Manhattan Beach, it becomes the piece they want to bring home.

The primary image I have been developing is a fat-tire step-through e-bike carrying a surfboard, because that is such a recognizable part of everyday life here. I have worked through the concept quite extensively already and have a version that I really like. The surfboard is white/cream with thin bright pink and orange stripes, while the bike itself remains mostly neutral. There is a subtle MB on the battery. I also have a small wave and 90266 as secondary elements.

I am not looking for a complete redesign of the concept. I would like your professional eye to refine it, simplify anything that needs simplifying, improve the proportions and details, and turn it into original, clean vector artwork that will reproduce beautifully on premium T-shirts, baseball caps, trucker hats, patches and stickers.

One important consideration is that the artwork needs to work both as a more detailed print graphic and in a simplified small version for embroidery. I especially want the hat logo to remain relatively small and refined rather than looking like oversized promotional merchandise.

BUILD SOMETHING UNIQUE
Technology is not enough!
An entrepreneurial and experimental nature requires a creative force.
Many projects both underway and contemplated always demonstrates design is a bottleneck.
To overcome this a close association with our resident business development lead could suffice.
Here, whatever is necessary to achieve our aims can be done working very closely together. For example, when appropriate getting on the screen and developing in real time can be a preferred method.
We want to use all the tools at our disposal. Unbounce or other landing page platforms, AI image generation, one's own designs using one's preferred tools, what have you, anything can work!
The idea is to iterate continuously until the right ideas are found and the right footprint(s) created that can then be fully pursued by whatever means makes sense given the use case. The resources necessary to carry out these various projects will be provided.
In order to do this, focused attention would be necessary to expend; so if one is juggling many things it would be unlikely to fit. Think of it this way: we wish to create a creative assembly line. 
You could say we want approach this like we'd be inventing a machine that can make it possible to work on a spectrum of projects across many industries and use cases and succeed on every occasion.
