Arcane Arts Alchemy & Apothecary is seeking a skilled illustrator and packaging designer for a substantial, long-term creative collaboration spanning candles, loose-leaf teas, ritual goods, divination tools and future publishing projects.

Our brand identity, color palette and overall visual direction are already established (see attachments). We are looking for a creative partner who can translate that direction into a cohesive family of original illustrations and polished, production-ready designs. The visual style combines Victorian botanical and vintage engraving influences with occult symbolism, celestial details, ritual objects and restrained jewel-toned color. The result should feel magical, elegant and distinctive rather than like generic witchcraft clip art or Halloween imagery.

We have developed detailed visual mockups illustrating the intended direction for many of our collections and product types. These references are strong indicators of the brand’s style, atmosphere, composition and visual language, but they are not intended to be traced or recreated exactly. We want the selected artist to interpret and elevate the concepts through original artwork while preserving the elements that make the collections feel recognizably Arcane Arts.

The anticipated initial and long-term scope includes:

Everyday Altar Collection: Formula-specific illustrations featuring botanicals, stones and ritual objects associated with each candle’s intention.
Deity Collection: Original character and/or symbolic illustrations representing individual deities, their attributes and their established correspondences.
Tarot Collection: A cohesive, fully illustrated 22-card Major Arcana series. The artwork will be used both for the Tarot candle collection and as the foundation for a functional Major Arcana Tarot deck.

3. Sassy Witch candle labels
A separate label system for our playful and irreverent Sassy Witch candle collection in amber glass jars. This collection should have its own personality while remaining recognizably connected to the larger Arcane Arts brand.

4. Pillar-candle labels and hang tags
Adhesive labels for standard round pillar candles, along with coordinating hang tags for sculptural and unusually shaped pillar candles. Much of this packaging can thoughtfully adapt artwork developed for the container-candle collections while accounting for the different formats, proportions and available space.

5. Tea packaging
Coordinating packaging for loose-leaf teas sold in resealable bags and premium jar, bottle or tin formats. Each tea should retain one core visual identity while being adapted appropriately for the different packaging shapes, sizes and information requirements. Where appropriate, the tea packaging may incorporate or reinterpret elements from the core illustration suite and candle collections to maintain continuity across the brand.

6. Boxes and secondary packaging
Packaging for ritual kits, individual candles, teas, Tarot decks and coordinating gift sets. This may include exterior box artwork, interior presentation elements, belly bands, seals, inserts and designs developed from printer-supplied dielines.

There is also significant potential for future illustration and publishing work, including:

* Expansion of the Major Arcana into a complete 78-card Tarot deck
* Tarot card backs, tuck boxes, guidebooks and coordinating deck packaging
* Book-cover illustration and design

We would prefer to work with one person who is highly capable in both original illustration and packaging design. However, we are also open to an exceptional illustrator who can create the artwork and visual system while collaborating with a separate production designer when needed.

I'm launching The Nail Ferry, a house call nail trim service for pets, primarily dogs and cats. I travel to the client's home so their pet never has to ride in the car or sit in a waiting room. The name is a play on the ferries that connect small coastal towns: the pet stays put and the ferry comes to them. I want the brand to play on that pun in a clever way while staying clearly about pets. The two ideas should feel like one thing, not a boat with an animal stuck on it.

Composition

The supplied AI mockup is a useful starting point for the general perspective and action, but several significant changes are required.

The Chute

The entire chute should be visible, extending from the foreground up through the woods to the launch structure at the top of the hill.

This long perspective is an important part of the image. We want viewers to appreciate just how long, steep, and unusual this toboggan chute is.

The supplied venue photographs should be used to make the chute, surrounding terrain, woods, and launch area substantially more authentic than they appear in the AI mockup.

Remove the Finish Banner

The large overhead FINISH banner shown in the AI mockup should NOT appear in the finished illustration.

Removing it will open the composition and allow the viewer's eye to travel uninterrupted from the racers in the foreground all the way up the chute to the launch structure.

The Toboggan Team

There should be four racers on the toboggan.

The team should feel as though they are genuinely moving very fast. Body positions, clothing, expressions, the angle of the sled, and other visual cues should communicate speed and excitement.

The actual racing photographs are important references for how people sit on these unusual racing toboggans and what the wooden sleds really look like.

The toboggan should feel authentic to the event rather than like a generic sled.

The Crowd

A large cheering crowd should line the right side of the chute.

This is one of the most important elements of the illustration because it conveys the atmosphere of the championships.

However, the spectators should be looking toward and reacting to the racers — not looking out at the viewer.

People can be cheering, laughing, waving, taking photographs, holding phones, etc., but their attention should naturally be directed toward the race.

The crowd should contain a believable variety of ages, clothing, hats, expressions and poses.

We especially want to avoid the distorted faces, strange accessories and repetitive expressions sometimes produced by AI imagery. (For example, the woman who appears to be wearing an eye patch in the mockup was supposed to simply be wearing glasses!)

Faces do not need to be portrait-level detailed. Natural and expressive is more important.

Speed and Timing

We would like to retain two visual storytelling elements from the concept.

A roadside speed display should show approximately:

40 MPH

A race timing display should also appear somewhere naturally within the scene.

These should look like physical objects belonging at the event rather than graphic elements added over the artwork.

The exact locations can be adjusted if the illustrator finds a better solution compositionally.

The Camden Snow Bowl

It is important that this feels like the actual Camden Snow Bowl, rather than a generic ski hill or winter forest.

Reference photographs are being supplied showing:

the full length and perspective of the chute
the launch structure
construction and sidewalls of the chute
surrounding woods
rocks and uneven snow-covered terrain
spectator areas
racers and racing toboggans
the general character of the event

We don't expect photographic duplication, but someone familiar with the championships should recognize the setting.

The somewhat rustic, homemade character of the chute and venue is part of its charm and should not be polished into something resembling a modern Olympic facility.

Illustration Style

We are looking for a hand-drawn sporting/event poster illustration with a somewhat vintage character.

The artwork can have strong linework and rich color while still feeling natural and human.

Potential approaches could include:

pen and ink with color
ink and watercolor
gouache
scratchboard/engraving-inspired linework with color
hand-drawn digital illustration
another traditional illustrative approach proposed by the artist

We are not looking for photorealism.

We are also not looking for a cartoon or caricature.

And most importantly, we do not want the finished illustration to have the polished, overly detailed, repetitive "AI-generated" appearance of the concept image.

The AI image communicates the idea. The illustrator's job is to give that idea personality, authenticity, and a human hand.

Typography & Graphic Design

The illustrator is being commissioned to create the illustration, not the finished poster typography.

Please do not incorporate the event title, dates, Camden Snow Bowl name, sponsor logos, FINISH lettering, or other promotional typography into the illustration.

Those elements will be designed and added separately in Adobe Illustrator after the illustration is completed.

The artwork should therefore provide some usable visual breathing room for typography, particularly toward the upper portion of the composition, without creating an obviously empty rectangular box.

We want the illustration to work beautifully on its own while also allowing the final poster designer to integrate typography with it.

The speed sign and race timing display are exceptions, because they are physical objects within the illustrated scene.

Working Process

We would like the project completed in three stages.

1. Rough composition / pencil sketch

This is an important approval stage.

We will review:

overall composition
perspective of the chute
visibility of the launch structure
position and scale of the racers
four-person team
crowd placement
where spectators are looking
speed sign
timing display
available typography space

Changes to composition should be made at this stage rather than after detailed rendering begins.

2. Refined drawing

After the composition is approved, we would like to see a more developed drawing showing the important people, structures, landscape, and other details before final color/rendering.

3. Finished color artwork

Final illustration based on the approved drawing.

We want to collaborate with the illustrator during the first two stages while also giving the artist freedom to improve upon the AI concept.

Final Artwork

The artwork will ultimately be used for a professionally printed event poster and potentially related promotional materials.

Final artwork should therefore be supplied at high resolution suitable for professional printing.

Layered artwork is preferred where practical, particularly if the artist works digitally. Having major components such as foreground racers, crowd, landscape/background, and signs on separate layers would provide useful flexibility for final poster production.

Exact final dimensions, bleed, color mode, and file specifications can be established before final production.

Materials We Will Provide

The selected illustrator will receive:

1. AI concept mockup
This establishes the initial concept, general perspective, crowd energy, racers, speed display and timing idea.

2. Full-chute reference photograph
Shows the dramatic length of the chute and its relationship to the hillside.

3. Chute and racer photographs
Show the actual construction of the chute, spectators, racing position and appearance of the toboggans.

4. Launch-area photograph
Shows the actual structure at the top of the chute that needs to appear in the finished illustration.

Additional reference photographs can be supplied if needed.

When Responding

Please include examples from your portfolio that demonstrate the drawing style you would use for this project.

Overview
We're a small, design-led brand looking for a talented illustrator to create a set of four original hand-drawn illustrations in a vintage style. This is a discrete first project, and if it goes well, there's strong potential for ongoing, regular work.

The work
Four individual illustrated elements, each an original hand-drawn / digitally painted piece in a cohesive vintage style:

- A cloud
- A pair of roses
- A bow and arrow
- A mountain

We'll share inspiration images for the exact feel once we connect. Each element should stand well on its own, as they'll be used individually and combined in different ways.

Style we're after
Vintage and hand-drawn, with a romantic, classic feel. Sophisticated rather than playful or cartoonish. Think antique illustration and botanical-print sensibility rather than modern flat vector.

A bonus, not required: if you also work in a digital watercolor style, we'd love to know, as we have a couple more pieces in that style coming up on a separate project. Not needed for this one.

Deliverables & requirements
- Four final illustrations. For digitally painted pieces, high-resolution raster files (300 DPI or higher, transparent background). For line-based drawn pieces, vector Adobe Illustrator (.ai) files.
- Editable, well-organized source files for every piece, with layers intact. Where possible, please keep color and shading on separate layers so base colors can be adjusted later without losing the form. We work in Procreate and Adobe Illustrator, so those are preferred, but we're open to Photoshop or other tools.
- 100% original work: no stock elements and no AI-generated components.
- Full copyright assignment of the commissioned work to us (we'll share the specifics, and we handle the paperwork).

Three Buoys Tackle & Supply is a new fishing and tackle brand based in Cecil County, Maryland, with a strong focus on the Upper Chesapeake Bay and surrounding waters.
We are looking for an experienced apparel/graphic designer to professionally develop and finish two T-shirt designs for us: a Waters Collection design and a Heritage Collection design.
We will provide our finished logo files, concept renderings and design direction. The attached concepts are intended to communicate the style, mood, brand direction and some of the elements we like. They are NOT finished artwork and should not simply be traced, copied or converted to vector.
We are hiring a designer because we want a professional design eye. If you believe a different composition, typography treatment, illustration approach or other design change would make either shirt stronger, we absolutely welcome that feedback. We want the best finished apparel designs, not literal copies of our concept images.
WATERS COLLECTION
This is the more detailed of the two designs.
We want a vintage nautical/chart-inspired back graphic featuring an accurate and recognizable representation of the Upper Chesapeake Bay.
The attached Waters concept captures some of the overall look and feel we like, but the geography shown in it is NOT accurate and must not be used as the geographic source for the finished design.
The finished artwork should be based on accurate geographic reference material and generally represent the Chesapeake from approximately just below the Chesapeake Bay Bridge north through the Upper Bay, Susquehanna Flats and into the Susquehanna River/Conowingo area.
The goal is for someone familiar with the Chesapeake Bay to immediately recognize the region.
We would like selected waterways, communities and landmarks incorporated where they enhance the design. Possible elements include the Susquehanna River and Susquehanna Flats, North East River, Elk River, Bohemia River, Sassafras River, Bush River, C&D Canal, Havre de Grace, Perryville, Port Deposit, North East, Chesapeake City, Rock Hall, Turkey Point, Conowingo Dam, Chesapeake City Bridge and Chesapeake Bay Bridge.
We do NOT expect every location to appear. We want the designer to use good judgment so the result remains balanced, attractive and wearable rather than becoming a crowded map. The important requirement is that any geography, waterways, towns or landmarks that are shown are accurately represented and placed.
HERITAGE COLLECTION
The Heritage design should have a timeless, vintage tackle-shop/fishing/outdoor feel centered around the Three Buoys identity and our three-buoy logo/imagery.
The attached Heritage concept shows the general feeling and some elements we like, but it should also be treated as inspiration rather than something to trace or duplicate.
We are open to a stronger layout, typography treatment, illustration style or overall composition if the designer believes there is a better way to achieve the same brand feeling.
We want this to look like genuine premium fishing/outdoor apparel — something someone would choose to wear even if they did not already know our company — rather than simply a business logo placed on a T-shirt.

"Out of Body" is a story about a man who wakes up one 1993 San Francisco morning without his physical body. To make matters even worse, no one seems to realize or care that he's disappeared.

What he goes from here is up to you, akin to classics like Indiana Jones and the Fate of Atlantis, Day of the Tentacle, and Monkey Island II.

This story is being lovingly produced by a brother (writer), sister (art director), and friend (developer). We are looking for a capable artist to help us finish many of the characters, game assets, and animations that will be in the game.

The art emulates computer games from the early 1990s mentioned above. The best applicants for this role will reference these games/art styles, and either have characters, animations, or backgrounds similar to this style in their portfolio or be willing to do a spec test if you don't yet. Search "out of body game" on steam and socials for published art so far.

Our immediate goal is to launch a beautiful trailer we're working on as well as a short demo this summer with characters, animations, and assets that are consistent with our reference games. We expect that these assets will enable us to attract crowdfunding to pay our artists more and accelerate full voice-acted completion of the game on pc/mac/switch.

We have a $500 block to start with. A successful hire will unlock subsequent $500 blocks this year into next year and higher rates (we're currently paying about $50 per character or complex animation and hope to be able to increase this rate over time with successful crowdfunding).

We are a small family run business specialising in militaria and army surplus. We deal in vintage clothing for the most part and as such want somebody who appreciates history and is able to incorporate that into their designs.

Ideally somebody who's looking to explore styles and try things out, but with an appreciation for the work of David King and Lemi Ghariokwu in having a political message. While we are not looking to push any one agenda, it is clear that with historical items there is a message that should be told. A new wave, constructvist, modernist style of the 60s - 80s would be brilliant. *Please* see the work of David King at least to understand the style we are after. We have neglected a social media presence over the 6 years we have been doing this, so ideally we would like a first and last image for a social media reel. This would be once a week (so 1 project per week) moving up to 4 if the fit is right. Graphics are welcome to creative liberty, but will need to feature the product in some way. E.g. a jacket could be singled out or shown worn in a historic photograph.
