If your profession is an operator specialty, working with Valentin will be the right choice. He shares the definition of the problem and the very detailed brief he prepared about it. Before this, he demands a call which is also a good start. He is flexible with the deadline besides sends you the compatible calendar range to help. Although it can't give detailed and inspiring feedback, he reviews your work and gets back to you soon.
If your profession is a creative specialty (brand naming creator, art direction, illustration and etc.), in that case, there is something you should know before working with Valentin. He's not very willing to cooperate on your method of brief-taking, way to understanding, and working style.
When it comes to creativity, professionals prefer to go their own way. They want to clarify the thoughts of their customers and therefore understand them with a unique system, verbal call, or a specific summary document they have prepared. Freelancers want to make sure that what's on the client's mind and heart is the same thing; because, in general, unfortunately, they are two different things, and this is not a deficiency or an error. A person cannot be as objective as he looks at someone else while evaluating his business. Naturally, emotions get involved. Therefore, conflict arises between logic (mind) and feeling (heart). It's pretty understandable.
Creative professionals filter knowledge, desires, and feelings with their method and bring out the essence to resolve this blur. And before starting work, they share the final demand with the customer and get approval mutually. Even at the end of this process, it is often difficult to get the customer's desired result, but this is not an insurmountable issue. Again and with a new approach, this incompatibility can be resolved. At this point, Valentin is avoiding the new approach to clarifying mutual satisfaction and doing the best that the creator can. In my opinion, if the client's initial demand was not met sufficiently, a new approach should be discovered through cooperation and reworked accordingly. Valentin insists on working based on the brief that he prepared for all despite all the explanations and insistence.
Another point is that he uses "Please" and "Thanks" in a fait accompli style in his communication. This attitude and related uses in touch are unfortunately one-sided. It does not give the right of reply to its interlocutor. It prevents healthy mutual communication by ending the conversation unilaterally. The words "please" and "thank you" become polite commands and mobbing their interlocutors from afar. A general example: "Please use the brief I sent you. Thanks." I think that this approach and the language used are incompatible with professionalism and that it is a form of communication that includes violence. This may not be a conscious behavior and usage, but it is pretty disturbing.
These are both sides of working with him from my experience. In the end, we both acted like professionals, I did my part, and he did him, then the contract was closed.
For general conclusion about all, I want to tell the last couple of things. Foremost, I am here to actively listen to clients and offer solutions to them. Getting the job done as soon as possible and making money is not a priority. At least for me. Everyone on this platform is offering their expertise at their own level. It is possible to understand whether this is good or bad from concrete outputs, but the important thing is to walk a little while wearing each other's shoes and try to understand what's going on. Striving for it! If your (clients) intention is just to get what you want (operating), okay, but if you want more than operating, including a new perspective and getting the best, it wouldn't be wrong to show a little extra effort to cooperate with the creator. Ultimately, this effort will return you with better results. You will be rewarded many times over for your understanding and effort at the end of the job.
Any subject can be resolved with goodwill, respect for expertise, and sufficient effort. The important thing is the attitude, always.

The Enguri Hydropower Plant sits across a frozen conflict zone between Georgia and Abkhazia, a ceasefire line that has divided the region since 1993. Soviet engineers built the dam on one side and the turbines 15 kilometers away on the other, never imagining a war would split them apart. Today, 60 Georgian engineers cross this militarized boundary every morning to operate turbines in territory their government doesn't control, generating electricity that both sides desperately need. No treaty governs this arrangement. Diplomatic relations remain frozen. Yet every few seconds during winter, when grid frequency drops toward critical thresholds, operators on both sides must coordinate immediately, or else refuse would trigger automatic blackouts affecting both territories within seconds. Meanwhile, the aging infrastructure is literally cracking apart, with international lenders (World Bank, EBRD, EU) stepping in to finance repairs, effectively governing through technical standards and loan conditions what diplomacy cannot resolve. The result is a paradox. Infrastructure that operates through continuous cooperation across a boundary where cooperation should be impossible, where failure becomes the mechanism for governance, and where the physics of electricity compels coordination that politics cannot achieve.
Illustration Brief:
I have a technical schematic of the dam and photographs, but would love an illustration that depicts the broader phenomena that are occurring at the dam. This is for my dissertation defense poster.
Therefore, I want to highlight three key elements: 1. Fragmented control, with the division of control between Georgia (where the dam is located), Abkhazia (occupied by Russia) (where the turbine and electricity generating equipment is located), and European/Western banks (World Bank, EBRD are the main two) that have been funding the dam's repair since the 1990s. Second, the dam's decay and ongoing monitoring/governance. The dam is old and wasn't maintained during the Soviet Union, so it is literally cracking and constantly under repair (funded by foreign banks and aid). therefore there is both ongoing construction and monitoring devices (monitored locally and in Europe) to ensure the continued operation of the dam. Finally, I want to highlight the ongoing real-time coordination across the militarized ceasefire line that ensures electricity crosses the border and provides the necessary energy to both Abkhazia and Georgia despite a stalled military conflict.
It doesn't need to be a completely accurate image of the dam and its geopolitics, but I want it to at least highlight the dam's perplexing story, as it is critically important to both Abkhazia and Georgia.
The goal is to create a poster that will convince people to come listen to my presentation.

I am looking for an experienced fantasy cartographer to create a high-resolution, "Lord of the Rings" style map of my city. This is a satire product that frames the city as a fantasy empire.
Tone: Serious high-fantasy visuals, but the content is modern satire.
Geography: Based on real-world city (I will provide a Google Maps reference), but stylized (e.g., the highway loop is a literal "Great Wall").
Landmarks: You will need to illustrate about 15-20 specific "micro-landmarks" in a fantasy style (e.g., drawing a football stadium as a "Colosseum of Woe," drawing a skyscraper as a "Dark Tower").
Text: There is extensive labeling (Lore names vs. Real names). I will provide the full text list.
Deliverables:
High-Res Raster (300 DPI) at 24"x36" size (suitable for poster printing).
Layered Source File (PSD or similar) so I can edit text later if needed.
Full Commercial Rights: I intend to sell prints of this map.

2. Cartography & Typography Style:
"Tolkien/Fantasy" Aesthetic: Experience creating "parchment" textures, weathered paper effects, and coastline aging.
Typography Mastery: You must understand how to curve text along rivers/roads (path text) and use high-fantasy serif fonts (e.g., Ancalagon, Ringbearer) legibly.
TTRPG / D&D Experience: Ideally, you have created world maps for Tabletop RPG campaigns or fantasy novels.
3. Print Production Knowledge:
High Resolution: The final file must be 300 DPI (or higher) at 24" x 36".
CMYK Ready: You must understand color profiles for physical printing (ensuring the "parchment" brown doesn't print as muddy grey).

We are building the Imaginarium, a visually rich digital environment centered around a 3D isometric map that acts as the primary organizing metaphor for the product. The map represents a world that users explore, with different regions, locations, and concepts expressed spatially rather than through traditional flat navigation.
Over time, we’ve accumulated a library of static 2D images and illustrations that support this experience. These assets are useful and conceptually sound, but they were created at different stages of the project and lack a unified visual language.
Our goal is to rework, refine, and harmonize these static assets so they clearly belong to the same world as the isometric map.
This is not a branding exercise and not a full redesign from scratch. It is a visual unification and refinement project.
What We Need
We are looking for a graphic artist or illustrator who understands:
Visual systems, not just individual images
Spatial logic and implied depth
How 2D artwork can visually “live next to” 3D or isometric environments
Your job will be to take existing static images and adjust, redraw, or reinterpret them so they feel:
Visually cohesive with one another
Clearly connected to the 3D isometric map
Designed as parts of a single, intentional world
The finished assets should feel like they were all created by the same hand, for the same environment, with the same underlying visual logic.
The Core Challenge
The Imaginarium uses space and place as a core metaphor. Even when an image is technically flat, it should feel like it exists somewhere in that space.

Use inconsistent lighting or depth cues
Feel stylistically disconnected from the isometric map
Your task is to resolve these issues while preserving the meaning and usefulness of the images.
This requires judgment, taste, and restraint — not just technical skill.

The work will include:
Reviewing an existing library of static images and illustrations
Identifying visual inconsistencies and opportunities for unification
Refining or redrawing images to align with:
The color palette of the isometric map
Shared lighting assumptions
