This is a children’s book on AI. It is written by someone very well known in the AI field, so we anticipate it will provide very good visibility for the illustrator. We need 32 illustrations and a book cover. Please find attached a rough style of what we are looking for. It does not need to be exactly like this style, as these two illustrations were created by AI, but it should be colorful (e.g., outlines with light watercolors), and there should be 4-6 characters that appear consistently throughout the illustrations.
We (Technics Publications) will own the full copyright to the illustrations and the book cover.
The artist can submit a sketch first and then, once the author approves, complete the final illustration. We can do five at a time. Sometimes small changes will be needed. We would not anticipate extra charges for small changes.
The cover will be 8.5 inches by 8.5 inches. We would need a front cover in a high-resolution JPG, the full cover in Adobe format (we will provide the Amazon and Ingram templates), and all of the raw files.
Illustrations will be square (4 inches by 4 inches) or rectangular, at least 300 dpi for sharp printing and easy insertion into a Microsoft Word document. We will provide which ones are square or rectangular.
Here is a description of the first 30 illustrations (Robby is a robot :L):

We are seeking a graphic designer for a short-term project to refresh the visual identity of our annual “Say Cheese” fundraiser.
“Say Cheese” is a month-long community competition between local restaurants to see who can create the best grilled cheese sandwich. The campaign is fun, high-visibility, and beloved by the community. We are looking for a designer who can modernize and elevate the look of the event while keeping it playful and approachable.
This project is time-sensitive and will be used immediately across print, digital, and social platforms.
Scope of Work:
We need the following core deliverables:
• A refreshed “Say Cheese” logo (text-based logo/wordmark)
• A new grilled-cheese mascot or character that can be used across marketing materials
• A bold, eye-catching design for a clear window cling for participating restaurants (large format, designed to attract foot traffic)
• A simple, practical brand kit for “Say Cheese,” including:
• Color palette
• Font pairings
• Basic usage guidance for the logo and mascot
The brand kit must be easy for a small nonprofit team to use without ongoing design support.
Technical Requirements:
• All assets must be compatible with Canva and Microsoft products (Word, PowerPoint, etc.)
• Files must be easy to reuse internally, not just designer-native formats
• Final deliverables should include both print-ready and web-ready versions
Style Goals:
• Fun, warm, and community-oriented
• Playful but polished
• Clear and readable from a distance
• Appeals to a broad public audience
Timeline:
This project has a firm deadline. All final assets must be completed by February 9.
Optional Extension of Project:
• Depending on timelines, fit, and workflow compatibility, we may also ask the selected designer to create templated marketing materials using the new brand system. These may include:
• Event poster
• Table tents for restaurants
• Social media graphics
• Stamp cards or “passport” cards for customers
All of these would need to be delivered as editable templates that our team can update internally using Canva and Microsoft products. This portion would be scoped and compensated separately.
We are especially interested in designers who can think in systems and build assets that a small nonprofit team can maintain without ongoing design support.
