We help businesses look after staff who work at desks all day, adjusting their chairs, screens, and setups that cause back pain, sore wrists, headaches, and sick days. Most of our work is one-to-one assessments so employees can adjust their own workstations, delivered in person or over video by trained ergonomic professionals. We've also built a software product that does the same job as our in-person assessors but at scale for companies with hundreds or thousands of staff. The consultancy is the parent brand. The software is the digital product within it. We're hiring one designer to shape both of the brands — the brands need to feel related but each brand has to stand on its own. Both our sites are live but a work in progress. We'll share them privately with shortlisted designers — part of why we're hiring is to refine the design and copy. ## The opportunity This is not a one-off logo gig. We're hiring a designer to be our long-term creative partner, someone who shapes the visual identity of both brands over the next 12+ months. The brand foundations are already in place. We have an approved colour palette we like, a clear voice, some logo concepts, and a directional shortlist of fonts. These are working values, but are open to refinement. We really value feedback and direction. Whoever we hire joins a brief that's already on its way, but needs to shape it. Being transparent up front: we've already worked with one designer (a referral) who produced two rounds of logo concepts. The colour and broader brand work is solid and we're using it as the foundation, we will share it with you. The logo direction itself wasn't quite right, which is why we're hiring fresh. We are trying to avoid going in the wrong direction again and need something good enough to go live on the website in the next 5 days if possible. The plan is to build out the full visual system and brand for the parent consultancy first, then apply the same process to the software product. The pipeline of work over the next 12 months: 1. Parent brand logo + identity (this engagement) 2. Typography system for website and documents 3. SVG shape library — decorative shapes, patterns, brand textures to use on website primarily but also on social media and other brand documents 4. Iconography — a consistent icon set for service pages and UI 5. Social media kit — profile pictures, banners, post templates 6. Merchandise — T-shirts, hoodies, water bottles 7. Email signature, letterhead, pitch deck, one-pager templates 8. Website UI design (a separate larger engagement) 9. Then the same process applied to the software product We're not asking anyone to commit to all the work upfront. But we wanted to give an idea that if the first piece works, here's everything that follows. ## How the selection process works Two stages, both paid through Upwork. Stage 1 — Paid trial ($50). We shortlist 2–3 designers and set up a small Upwork contract with each ($50 fixed price) to produce 2–3 rough logo concepts based on our detailed brief (which we send privately to the shortlist). Low fidelity, low detail. We're paying for the thinking, not the polish. Each concept needs: a one-sentence concept statement, a typography direction, a rough sketch (hand-drawn is fine), and 2–3 sentences of rationale. Roughly 1–2 hours of work. No polished vectors, no variants, no mockups, that's all paid for in and covered in Stage 2. Stage 2 — Full logo pack engagement. The designer whose thinking lands best with us is invited into the full logo pack contract at the fixed price they quoted in their proposal. Other trial designers are paid and thanked, no further commitment from those designers. We've found this process consistently yields the best results, it protects both sides. We don't commit to a full project with someone we haven't worked with yet, and you don't commit to a full project for a client you haven't worked with yet.
