**Job Description:**
We are looking for an experienced **Python developer with strong 3D geometry skills** to implement an automated **mesh clipping pipeline** for building extraction.
The task is focused and well-defined:
Given **OBJ 3D city tiles** and **building footprint polygons**, the script should automatically load the correct tiles, clip the mesh using a polygon, clean the result, and export a compressed GLB.
No photogrammetry, no viewer logic — only the clipping pipeline to later be deployed on aws.

# 🔧 **What you will build**
### **1. Tile Selection**
* Read polygon footprints (GeoJSON).
* Transform coordinates to the same CRS as the mesh (using **pyproj**).
* Detect which **OBJ tiles** intersect with the polygon (using **Shapely**).
* Support multi-tile merging when a building crosses a tile boundary.
### **2. Mesh Loading & Merging**
* Load OBJ tiles into a unified mesh (using **Trimesh**).
* If multiple tiles are needed → merge into a single trimesh object.
### **3. Polygon → Cutting Mesh**
* Convert the building footprint polygon into a 3D cutting volume
(extruded polygon with a generous Z-height range).
* Create a Trimesh solid for Boolean operations.
### **4. Boolean Clipping**
* Perform **mesh intersection** or **mesh clipping**:
* `trimesh.boolean.intersection`
* or a similar robust Boolean backend.
### **5. Mesh Cleanup**
* Remove small components / floating geometry.
* Ensure normals and watertightness if possible.
* Optional mesh simplification.
### **6. Export**
* Export the clipped result as:
* OBJ (intermediate)
* **GLB (with Draco compression)** using `obj2gltf` or `gltf-pipeline`.

The site context and the general building envelope are already defined through the model and the digital terrain data. The task is to further develop this basis into a coherent architectural concept, focusing on spatial strategy rather than detailed design or regulations.

The only problem was the lack of communication. He repeatedly refused to get on a call so we could discuss everything properly, which made the whole process much harder than it needed to be. Architecture is a complex field, and many important details simply cannot be clarified over chat messages. Because we couldn’t have a real conversation to align expectations, a lot of time was lost and misunderstandings kept appearing. I believe that with better communication and willingness to talk things through, the project would have gone much smoother.
Additionally, the task was not clearly defined. There were no dimensions, no precise requirements, and the overall brief was vague. The materials provided were incomplete and of poor quality, which made it impossible to deliver accurate architectural work. Without proper measurements and clear guidelines, achieving the results he expected was simply unrealistic. Nevertheless, wish him all the best and hope to have the chance to work again with better results.

From the beginning, the requirements were never clear—lots of ambiguity and constant back-and-forth in decision making. Even so, I decided to give it a chance.
Communication was awful. Plenty of messages, but a complete waste of time and highly ineffective. Until the very end, I genuinely couldn’t tell whether he didn’t understand English well, or if he was just skimming messages in a rush, with no interest in understanding and responding correctly. He doesn’t know how to read or interpret architectural drawings, many of the questions and corrections he asked were already clearly visible in the plans without needing excessive explanation.
If there’s one good thing to say, it’s that they were respectful in their tone—but it was not enough to make up for how demeaning and temperamental he could also be.

He then stated that the initial information was sufficient again. I made my revisions without the time tracker as requested. Then, after the draft images I sent, he said that he wanted to end the contract, and me to refund my earnings despite our hourly contract.

I worked without day-offs, was always in touch and did a lot without tracking time because I felt huge responsibility for the result. Alexander worked on weekends too, so I thought we are a team that makes really great project. He asked for dozens changes and I did them, because it's work process, it's ok. He required realistic style for illustration, I wrote him that realism takes time, but I did as much as I was able to do before deadline. Finally, I sent him files for print, and on the next day he requested to refund 50% of money because I worked too much hours. He saw how many hours I worked (at least 2 times on Mondays), and he never told that this is too much before he got the files. I wrote him why I spent so much time and that I actually worked much more time than he may see in work diary, and I realized from his answer that he doesn't respect my efforts at all. It's a pity because I devoted 2 weeks of my life to this project.

This has been the worst experience I've ever had with any freelancer. He is greedy, arrogant, unethical, and completely …This has been the worst experience I've ever had with any freelancer. He is greedy, arrogant, unethical, and completely unprofessional. He has zero respect for clients, deadlines, or commitments, the only thing he is concerned about is money.
The project was agreed upon as a fixed price contract, and was supposed to be completed in 20, 25 days, but it ended up taking over 4 months. Why? Because midway through the project, he clearly told me he had received bigger offers, and therefore had no interest in completing my project anymore. He literally said that “when I get bigger offers, I don't care about smaller ones.” That alone shows his complete lack of ethics and professionalism.
On top of that, despite the fixed price agreement, he asked me to pay extra three separate times during the project. These extra demands were not only unjustified, but also completely outside the agreed budget. But because the project was already halfway done and I had paid over 50% via milestones, I was compelled to give in, even though I never should have had to. He clearly took advantage of the situation, knowing I was stuck.
And when I refused to pay more, he made inappropriate threats, saying he would publicly share the unfinished video if I didn’t comply. This was a serious breach of professional conduct and put me in a very difficult and unfair position. Yet, he showed no remorse or accountability for his actions.
Throughout this time, his communication was pathetic. He would ignore messages for days or weeks, and only responded when he wanted money. If you pay him, he’ll talk sweetly. If not, you’re invisible to him. He also used disrespectful and offensive language, showing zero regard for the client.
I strongly warn anyone considering hiring this person, do NOT trust him. He is not client friendly, not reliable, not ethical, and not worth the risk. If I had the option to give zero stars, I absolutely would. This freelancer has made this project a complete nightmare, and I would NEVER recommend him to anyone under any circumstances.

Recently, I was invited to a Job on UpWork, and I decided to go with it to grow my profile. The client’s location shown is Islamabad but his name is Anthon Clark.
At first, I presaged that I might be scammed, but I trusted him and accepted to do LinkedIn Company & Client Profile for 10$ only.
After 2 days of hectic work & finishing it, I submitted the work for review & payment approval. After receiving the work, he was no longer replying to me. And I was unable to get the labour of my work. He might’ve arisen the issue that my work couldn’t have satisfied him (but he hadn’t asked for any revision).
Also, the LinkedIn Profile of the person I developed is from Islamabad, which means he is the same person and saying to me that he was assigned to place the order for his boss.
Can you please cross-check by asking for his NIC/Passport to see if he’s really Anthon Clark. Also, please do something to have my contract completed & payment released to me!

I am building a home in Florida and plan to install Masterbrand's KitchenCraft cabinetry line throughout the home. I had been working with a local cabinetry designer, but in the interest of time, I am turning to UpWork to complete this large project.

-cabinetry designs prepared using 2020 software (I need detailed designs that I can hand over to our local cabinetry designer, who will then handle the ordering process)
-3D renderings of the cabinetry (including custom cabinetry paint colors, countertop materials, and hardware)

We are looking for a skilled 3D model animator to create engaging animations for various assets in our mobile game. The ideal candidate will have experience with character animations, object animations, and a strong understanding of mobile game requirements. You will work closely with our design team to ensure that the animations enhance the gameplay experience and meet our creative vision. Based on several product photos, you'll need to create high-quality, realistic illustrations generated by AI, depicting the product in real-world situations. The final result should be close to real-world photographs.
I'll use screenshots from Bambulab Studio as the base images, and the products will be 3D prints. These will be hung on the wall, and I'll expect these photos from various angles. For example, each model in four different angles against a concrete wall.

My position is former VP of operations, so I'm focused on workflows. I have very limited knowledge of CAD but can draft in Chief Architect in mid to high level (so I've built a lot of quick 3D options for this company). I would need you to draft up each piece of equipment or download the cad from the internet and place it throughout the building. I will supply you will basic placement details and you will adjust the cad drawings. There are also structural elements that will need to be modified (columns moved, doors added and removed, and walls added or removed. This will include changes to electrical plumbing and HVAC. We will also be adding a ventilation system. Depending on your ability to deliver we would need drawings with details, simple layout drawings, layered drawings so equipment layer can be turned off and on and so forth with each phase of the project. You would be expected to build section views. Unfortunately, all my equipment is currently drafted in PowerPoint as everything I did require constant approval. So, you'll need to interpret the PowerPoint drawings and draft the cad block for the equipment off that and other sources I can provide if needed.
I trust you can work on teams or zoom and that you can speak English well enough to have a conversation? I am trying to button this up in two to three weeks starting this week. If you feel like this is something you're up to let me know? If you have a recommend of who to use for this that would also be much appreciated. I do need you to send over an NDA.

Project Overview
Building Type: New 1 story w/ basement mixed-use facility including: ~2,000+ SF auditorium (200+ seat capacity, key focus area) Lobby / entry spaces (Seaver Entry, Hewins Lobby) Offices, boardroom, admin areas Caterer's kitchen / bar Unisex bathrooms, Mechanical spaces, Basement level (storage, flex/rental space, etc.), Green roof / rooftop elements
Architect: Vanko Studio Architects (current phase: Design Development / DD, dated ~2025-2026)
Design Intent: Modern, community-oriented space with emphasis on welcoming public areas, functional office lighting, high-quality auditorium presentation/performance lighting, and energy-efficient/exterior integration where applicable. The building features a distinctive exterior with green roof, glass elements, and wood accents.
Scope of Work
The selected designer will review provided architectural drawings (floor plans, sections, enlarged auditorium details, site plans, 3D renderings/views).
Design and specify all interior and relevant exterior project lighting fixtures (US-market available products only; no custom imports unless explicitly approved) including all site and exterior lighting.
Focus on layered lighting (ambient, task, accent), code-compliant levels (footcandles per IES/ASHRAE/MA amendments), glare control, energy efficiency, adrk sky compliance, and integration with architecture
Key emphasis on the auditorium (house lights, egress, etc.), lobby/entry zones, offices, and public circulation
Provide photometric calculations/plans (using AGI32, Dialux, or equivalent software) showing illuminance levels, uniformity, and fixture layouts
Refined Schematic Design (due ~10 business days after start)
Updated sketch plans with actual selected fixtures (specific models). Initial photometric plans for key areas (especially auditorium, lobby, offices). Preliminary fixture schedule (top 80-90% complete)
Completed Schematic Design – Final Package (due by end of 15 business days). Final lighting plans (reflected ceiling or overlaid floor plans). Complete photometric plans and reports. Final fixture schedule with full cut-sheet references

Required Qualifications
Proven experience with US commercial/institutional lighting design (auditoriums, community centers, offices, lobbies a plus). Proficiency in photometric software (AGI32 preferred, Dialux acceptable). Strong knowledge of current IES standards, energy codes (MA Stretch Energy Code), and UL/ETL-listed US fixtures. Ability to work quickly and iteratively with minimal back-and-forth.
