Style

A warm, audio-led podcast feel with the pacing of a modern YouTube creator: tight cuts, animated word-highlight captions, on-screen text for key terms, simple graphic callouts and restrained sound effects (soft clicks, light whooshes, chimes). Reference videos will be shared.

Per episode, you will deliver

A full edit of a 30 to 50 minute episode in 16:9.
Three vertical clips (30 to 60 seconds) with burned-in captions.
A proofread caption file for the full episode.
A thumbnail and three title options.
Chapter timestamps.

Requirements

Portfolio of podcast or interview edits on YouTube.
Strong audio cleanup and mixing.
Experience with animated captions and sound design.
Ability to follow a style guide, and to use licensed music and effects only.
Clear written English and a 4 to 5 day turnaround.

Paid test

Edit a 10-minute raw interview that I will provide into one 90-second teaser in 16:9 and one 45-second vertical clip with captions and sound design. Paid at a fixed price.

Terms

Fixed price per episode, paid through Upwork milestones. Two revision rounds per episode. I own all edits, project files and graphics. I will grant access through YouTube Studio permissions only.

Budget: 50 usd per episode, negotiable

We're looking for an English teacher to train two Thai adults who already speak conversational English. The goal is B1 level within 3 months.

What you'll do
- Teach one live online lesson a day for both learners together (a group of 2)
- Focus on speaking and vocabulary: real conversations, pronunciation, everyday and workplace English
- Set short homework (10-15 minutes a day) and new vocabulary for each lesson
- Test both learners at the start and at the end (e.g. EF SET or a Cambridge placement test), and share a short progress note every Friday

Schedule (fixed, not flexible)
- Start: Monday, 2 November 2026. End: end of January 2027.
- Monday to Saturday, 16:00-17:00 Thailand time (GMT+7)
- 3 months, about 78 lessons
- No missed sessions. If something truly unavoidable comes up, you give at least 24 hours' notice and arrange a make-up lesson the same week. Reliability matters more to us than anything else.

We are oto, the team behind Fiber. We are recruiting 10 adults in eligible US states for a limited paid pilot: five pairs, with one 10 minute video conversation per participant. We provide the conversation topic. Speak naturally in your own words. No teaching or acting experience is needed.

Payment and scope

This pilot pays $100 per recorded hour, per participant, before Upwork freelancer fees. One 10 minute recording is approximately $16.67 per person. Payment is through Upwork, not Stripe.

This is one paid 10 minute session per selected participant, not an offer of a full hour or ongoing work at $100/hour. Waiting time is not paid. We will agree on the schedule, technical requirements, billable recording time and payment terms through Upwork before work begins. We do not request unpaid trial recordings. Any further work would require a separate agreement.

We plan to review applications for this pilot over three days. Applying does not guarantee selection or an immediate match.

What you will need

Join from your own quiet room, separately from your conversation partner. Keep your face visible, use clear lighting and a stable camera, and use your best available microphone. You need a computer with a webcam and microphone, or an Android phone, plus earbuds and a reliable internet connection. Speak English comfortably without reading a script.

You may apply alone or express interest in participating with an eligible friend or family member. Both people must qualify, review the recording consent, and have their own contracting and payment arrangements confirmed before recording. Do not send another person's private details. Eligibility

Consider a scenario in which a teacher assigns an examination to a student using a VR headset. The system must establish that the person wearing the headset and completing the examination is the registered student, rather than another individual taking the test on their behalf.

We are looking for an innovative, technically sound approach to identity verification and examination integrity in VR.

This is a research and development project. We are open to different approaches and would like the successful applicant to assess the available technologies, identify their limitations, and recommend the most reliable and practical solution.

Project Objectives

The primary objective is to establish a reliable link between a student’s verified identity and their examination session.

Potential capabilities include:

* Identity verification before an examination: Verify the student’s identity before granting access to the test.
* Continuous or periodic identity checks: Investigate whether the system can detect when the original student leaves and another person takes over.
* Biometric authentication: Assess the feasibility of technologies such as iris recognition, facial recognition, or other biometric methods compatible with the selected VR hardware.
* Hardware integration: Investigate whether additional cameras, sensors, fingerprint readers, eye-tracking hardware, or external peripherals could support identity verification.
* Session integrity: Detect or flag suspicious interruptions, headset removal, changes in the user, or other potential attempts to bypass the verification process.
* Exam security: Explore ways to prevent unauthorised access, account sharing, impersonation, and other forms of examination fraud.
* Instructor interface: Provide teachers or administrators with verification results, session logs, and relevant alerts.
* Privacy and security: Protect biometric information and personal data, with appropriate consent, access controls, and secure storage.

Important Technical Consideration

We recognise that VR headsets have different hardware capabilities and that not every device supports iris scanning, facial recognition, or other biometric methods.

The successful applicant will be expected to evaluate what is possible with existing VR hardware and whether additional sensors or hardware modifications would be necessary.

We are particularly interested in understanding whether a reliable solution can be implemented on commercially available VR headsets, such as the Meta Quest series, or whether a custom hardware configuration would be required.

We do not expect applicants to assume that any single biometric technique will solve the problem. We want a developer who can compare alternatives and recommend a practical, secure, and scalable approach.

Scope of Work

Phase 1 — Technical Research and Feasibility Study

* Evaluate available VR headsets, built-in sensors, and external peripherals.
* Compare potential identity verification methods.
* Assess the feasibility of detecting user substitution during an examination.
* Identify technical limitations, privacy considerations, and potential vulnerabilities.
* Recommend the most suitable architecture and implementation strategy.

Phase 2 — Proof of Concept

* Develop a prototype demonstrating the proposed identity verification method.
* Integrate the prototype with a VR examination environment or a representative test application.
* Demonstrate identity verification at the start of a session and, where technically feasible, detection of a change in the person taking the examination.
* Document the prototype’s accuracy, limitations, false acceptance and rejection risks, and resistance to straightforward bypass attempts.

Phase 3 — Potential Full Development

Subject to the feasibility study and prototype results, the project may be expanded to include a production-ready verification system, administrator dashboard, reporting, and integration with a wider examination platform.

Ideal Candidate
