Skip to main contentHow It Works
Template Structure lets you define a specific format for your cover letters. You write static text that stays the same, and add AI prompts where AI generates personalized content.
Static text remains unchanged. Only content inside AI prompts is generated by AI.
Cover Letter Structure
A good cover letter includes:
- Introduction - Address the client and show you understand their project
- Body - Highlight relevant experience and explain how you can help
- Closing - Include a clear call to action
Keep it concise and focused on the client’s needs.
Adding AI Prompts
Use the “Add AI prompt” button in the template editor toolbar to insert an AI prompt. Click the button, then edit the prompt text to tell AI what to generate.
Example workflow:
- Write your static text: “Hello there,”
- Click “Add AI prompt” button
- Edit the prompt: “using freelancer profile context, write short introduction and why I am a good fit”
- Add more static text: “Best regards, John”
AI generates content based on:
- Your instructions in the prompt
- The job posting
- Your profile information
- The surrounding static text
Adding Spintax
Use the “Add Spintax” button to create multiple variations of text. Click the button, then add your options separated by |.
Example:
- Click “Add Spintax” button
- Enter:
Hello|Hi|Greetings
- The system randomly selects one option when generating the proposal
When a proposal is generated, one option is randomly selected from each Spintax group.
See Spintax documentation for more examples.
A/B Testing
Enable A/B testing to compare two template versions. When enabled, you can create:
- Template (Variant A) - Your first version
- Template (Variant B) - Your second version
When submitting a proposal, the system randomly selects one variant. This helps you test which version performs better.
Example Workflow
Creating a template:
- Write static text: “Hello,”
- Click “Add AI prompt” and enter: “Write a brief introduction highlighting relevant experience”
- Add more static text: “I’ve completed similar projects and can start immediately.”
- Click “Add AI prompt” again and enter: “Add a specific question about their project needs”
- Add closing: “Best, [Your name]”
The template editor shows AI prompts highlighted in green, making it easy to see which parts will be AI-generated.
