# Setup

> Connect Claude, ChatGPT or Claude Code with one server URL

## Server URL

```
https://www.vollna.com/mcp
```

Sign-in uses OAuth. When you connect, the app opens a Vollna page in your browser. Sign in, check the app's name and the team it will act in, and click **Allow**. You never paste a password or an API key into the app.

Each team member connects their own apps. [Settings → Developers → MCP](https://www.vollna.com/dashboard/team/mcp) shows your teams, what is left of today's limits and your connected apps.

## Connect your app

<Tabs>
  <Tab title="Claude">
    Works on every Claude plan. The Free plan allows one custom connector.

    1. Open **Customize → Connectors**.
    2. Click **+ Add**, then **Add custom connector**.
    3. Enter a name, for example Vollna, and paste the server URL.
    4. Sign in to Vollna and click **Allow**.
    5. In a chat, click **+**, then **Connectors**, and turn Vollna on.

    On a Claude Team or Enterprise plan, an owner adds the connector under **Organization settings → Connectors** first. Members then click **Connect**.

    Claude's menus change from time to time. [Anthropic's guide](https://support.claude.com/en/articles/11175166-get-started-with-custom-connectors-using-remote-mcp) has the current steps.
  </Tab>

  <Tab title="ChatGPT">
    Reading and changing your data needs ChatGPT Business, Enterprise or Edu. On ChatGPT Pro, custom servers can read but not change. A Business workspace needs an admin or owner to add the server.

    1. Open **Plugins**, click **+** and choose **Add custom MCP server**.
    2. Enter a name, for example Vollna, and paste the server URL.
    3. Choose OAuth, accept the warning about custom servers, and select **Create**.
    4. Sign in to Vollna and click **Allow**.

    ChatGPT's menus change often. [OpenAI's guide](https://help.openai.com/en/articles/12584461-developer-mode-and-mcp-apps-in-chatgpt) has the current steps.
  </Tab>

  <Tab title="Claude Code">
    1. Run:

       ```bash theme={null}
       claude mcp add --transport http vollna https://www.vollna.com/mcp
       ```

    2. Run `/mcp` in Claude Code and pick **vollna**.

    3. Sign in to Vollna and click **Allow**.
  </Tab>
</Tabs>

## Check it works

Ask the app: "What Vollna plan am I on?" It answers with your plan and team. When it says it has no Vollna tools, turn the connector on for the chat, or connect again.

## Teams

One connection works in every team you are an active member of, when that team's plan includes MCP. The app starts in the team you have open in Vollna. To work in another team, ask the app to switch: "Switch to my Acme team." The team open in your browser stays as it is.

## Troubleshooting

| The app says | Do this |
| - | - |
| "MCP comes with a paid plan." | Your team is on a trial. MCP turns on with a paid plan. |
| "MCP access is not on your plan." | Your plan does not include MCP. Contact support. |
| "Your team has no active plan." | Choose a plan in Vollna billing. |
| "The last payment for your team's plan failed." | Update the payment method in Vollna billing, then connect again. |
| "You are not a member of this team." | Ask the app to list your teams and switch to one of them. |
| "Your team used all … reads for today." | That read has a [daily cap](/docs/mcp/changes-and-limits#daily-caps). It resets at 00:00 UTC. |
| "Too many calls in the last minute." | Wait a minute, then ask again. |

## Disconnect

1. Open [Settings → Developers → MCP](https://www.vollna.com/dashboard/team/mcp).
2. Under **Connected apps**, click **Revoke** next to the app.

The app has to ask for access again before it can connect.
